LOOKING GOOD FOR TIMANA TAHU(RLW)

Today i had just bought a new edition of Rugby League Week, the first edition of 2010. Throughout the magazine it shows the insiders of each club, with a main story about a player or new signing. They then have a column for each team stating the player to watch in 2010 who is young and is a great player.Firstly of course our main story on our double page spread is our biggest signing Timana Tahu. The player to watch in 2010 under the category "the boy can play" is Jonathan Wright. I was reading this and i am very happy in the statements that Timana Tahu had said. It gives all readers the idea that he will be staying for a long time. He states how much he loves the club and how it feels like home. Here are some interesting lines and statements:The dual international would sneak into the gym to train during his holidays only to be shooed away by eels staff. Told to bugger off home and enjoy some down time. Fat chance of that happening."He just kept coming to training, he was that excited" states ossie.Tahu said " I was getting cabin fever. I was getting the shakes sitting around, it was ridiculous just sitting on the couch, i felt like i was getting lazy."For me its just about preparing myself for a big year. I have to train the hardest i have ever trained".]"My body was starting to suit how the Rugby game, In rugby you do a lot of long running compared to league which is more power and speed, short busts. SO i am finding it(eels training) tough. But its going to be a lot easier to adapt back because I am drilled and trained as a league player all these years.""I am enjoying being back, it is refreshing. It was either Newcastle or back to Parra. My wife and i weighed up the options and Parramatta was better situated. Our kids go to school out here and I probably had my best years at Parramatta. All the players here are around my age and I am good mates with everyone. And they have the perfect training and coaching staff here. One thing I really missed was the hype coming into the game. Not disrespecting the Warratahs but you come to Parramatta and you train on the outside oval warming-up, everyone is watching you and you can feel the hype. When you run out, you feel proud to be running out in a Parramatta jumper. All those little things, like seeing photos of the old legends up on the walls of the gym, thats something that gets me motivated. No wonder hes so hungry to suceed.

  • Hell yer bring on tahu.
    • im so excited he seems pumpedd up
  • Yeah, this edition of RLW has been out for a while now, came out start December I think. But it certainly was interesting reading. I got the impression from Tahu that in his first stint with Parra that he never really had that passion. He started to show it in 2007 after he signed with the rah rahs.

I am really looking forward to having him back and really wanting to play with Parra
    • yeah i know, i only just got it today lol
  • A sentiment shared by MR T and all the blue and gold supporters.....hurry up and let's get the season underway!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see the first ball kicked off dor 2010 and then we can get this party started!!!
  • I cant wait for Tahu to teach Jamal Idris & Justin Hodges a bloody lesson !
  • yes agree thats my fav line as soon as i read that he said " you feel proud to be running out in a Parramatta jumper," I knew he will be sticking around for a lot longer.
  • yeh maybe billblogs but what if he gets injured and is out most of the season we have seen it bofore especially with older players, i hope he has a good game but i reckon mateo should be signed before him.
i mean a young player, has the x factor, very loyal, carried the team for alot of game bofore hayne stood up, played at 5/8, lock and sorta anywhere in forwards if need to compares to a thirty yr old getting towards the end who hasnt played league in awhile and didnt go to good in union(think got injured 2)
take your pick i pick the future in mateo
  • Lets hope the big T's hamey holds up.....can't wait for round 2 .....Timana V mat the ca* matai.....Parra Stadium will explode........
