looking forward to next year

The seasons over but there is much to look forward to for next year. We have some of the best forwards coming through the NRL. With a bit of experience under their belts players like Pauli Pauli and Junior Paulo will be much stronger for us next year. Tepai Moreoa will be an absolute superstar and with the Hard running of Manu Ma'u and Kenny Edwards on our edges we will have a very exciting forward pack.Add to the a signing like Danny Wicks who will be hungry to prove his doubters and the ever reliable Tim Mannah and you have the makings of a good team.We have the best fullback in the game and one of the most exciting wingers who will be much better with another season under his belt.I think Hopoate will also be better with another pre season under his belt and a few kilos heavier. I think Beau Champion will also prove to be a very astute buy if he stays fit.The one spot I do worry about is our other wing. I think if Vai Toutai learnt how to catch and defend he would actually be a good winger.I think Chris Sandow also had a fantastic season and that he has finally grown up. Finally having players like Matterson and Davis coming through the ranks makes next season a very exciting prospect for the Eels

  • Why?
    • ^^^^ lol can't wait till Cody Nelson and Shannon McPherson show us what they can do.  Add in a drug dealer that hasn't played in 4 year yes i can't wait till next year.

    • Why do you guys bother following the Eels. Why dont you go and follow a success bought team like the Roosters
  • Because for some stupid reason Parra are my team, doesn't mean i can't bag the side and club when i think they deserve it.

  • Outrunna, most us have followed the Eels since we were kids, it's all we know, it's like having a brother who's an assh*ole.

Most days you wanna kick the crap out of him but you still love him as a brother and remains in you life no matter what.

I don't share your optimism for next season, we will improve but it won't be good enough. The current top 8 will still be strong next season, we have many teams below us who have under achieved.

Parramatta will be mixing it up with Canberra, Newcastle, Titans and the Raiders at the bottom of the ladder. The Sharks, Dragons and Tigers has much better roster than we do.

I predict we finish bottom 5.

    • lol Joseph, nice analogy.

Sef Paulo is the brother of this team as well lol.

  • I agree. But I have a feeling there will be at least one other major signing.
  • I'm looking forward to having Peats back, Mau back and seeing Danny Wicks in an eels jersey.

Also Watmough and Foran as eels ;)

  • The sad part is I've heard this all before Ountrunna last year it was Mossop, Hock, Hoppa, Tonga and the other recruits bandwagon ,and what have we got? a team that capitulated in the two easiest games of the year no doubt we improved from last year and the year before but we couldn't have got any worse, so next year we will have a prop in Wicks who hasn't played in three years so I guess like Hoppa we will have to accept mediocrity from him for the first year as well, as far as Mossop is concerned he was recruited injured by the club the bloke had a "bung shoulder "and was told by the club to get surgery which he didn't he lasted three or four games, so we have two starting players that have excuses written all over them for mediocrity, because the clubs fans accepted it from Hoppa, if this sounds ridiculous, it is but it's what people have accepted, and I have had a gutfull of it!

"Agreed. I won't renew him no matter how well he plays. He was still sketchy yesterday. He is a good impact bench player against tired edges and Moses slipping him balls. "

"Hmmm. The only in would be Moretti for me. Maybe. I'd let him maybe have more time in reggies first. I'd keep Guymer.
So basically, same team. Yes even De Belin. I want De Belin to be in the team first few rounds then things will change IMO. Him…"
