You might have noticed that the site has gone through another growth spurt. In fact, Monday's traffic was the site's biggest day ever - exceeding Grand Final day last year which was not surprisingly the previous busiest day.

We're about to top 1,200 members and we can safely say 1Eyed Eel is now easily the most active Parramatta site on the web. More than 14,000 people will have visited 1Eyed Eel this month which is about the same as our average home-game crowd.

This site breaks more Eels-related news than anywhere else including any of the newspapers, provokes more Eels-related discussions than any other forum and has by far the bigger archive of Eels images and videos. In short, this community rocks.

If your a new or recent member, a very warm welcome. When we've had a sharp period of growth in the past, we've always had some associated growing pains along with it but it's been nice that we haven't had to deal with the same level of troublesome new members as we have in the past. With the Trash blogs in place, we have an effective way to sideline some of our most robust discussions without having to over-moderate.

The only issue we seem to be having at the moment is with duplicate posts. We're generating so much content at the moment that if you have a day where you don't log on, there will be blogs that have already dropped off the front page. For instance news that Kris Keating signed with the Bulldogs which broke here on Friday but only made its way to most websites today is now five pages back. As a result of that, I'm going to ask the moderators to be a bit more proactive in closing down duplicate threads and moving them across to the Trash. However, we can all do our part by checking to see if another blog has already been posted on a particular issue and adding to that rather than always creating a new blog. And if you're blog gets moved to trash, don't take offence, it's just part of house-keeping.

Congrats for all your hard effort Phil

I only stumbled upon the site in the preseason and find myself spending more and more time on here

You've created a great culture here and it is a credit to our great club that supporters like you create an outlet for fans to chat/bicker/argue/vent and socialise!

Cant wait to see 1Eyed Eel grow bigger and better into the future!!

This is good to hear. congrats to you Phil, you put hard work in to keep this top site up and going.

Its so addictive... Love what people have to say, how the differance of opinion messes with people, love hearing the 1st hand news and inside goss!!!

And most of all the colourful characters on here.
