Lockyer's record can be broken

Many people are saying that Lockyer's record for games played in the NRL won't be broken however, if my maths are correct, Hindy can pass Lockyer's record. Hindy will finish the season with 307 games to his name and Lockyer will finish the season on 353. Depending on how many finals game Darren players his final total can range from 355-357. Let's say he finishes on 357. Each team plays 24 games per year. If Hindy was to play every game for the next 2 years he would finish with 355 games. If we were to make the G.F. next year and play each game in the finals he would finish with 359 games. So, to all those people saying it will take forever to break Lockyer's record. It will probably take 2-3 yrs. Not that long after all.

  • Hindy will retire at the end of next season, barring injury or other circumstances he should finish on 230 odd.
  • How do you know for certain? Doesn't his contract finish in 2013? He said he wanted to play on and if his body was coping he would keep going. I think you mean 330 odd.
  • With all this talk surrounding the amount of games players have played; Luke Burt will pass 250 games in round 6 next season.
  • Someone will break that record eventually but I doubt it will be Hindy
    • You never know. If Hindy was to play on I'm pretty sure he'd break the record.
  • Considering that they said Terry lambs record of 349 games was unbreakable, I think it can be done just not sure if it will be Hindmarsh that does it!
  • I know what everyone is saying this is just a "what if" scenario.
  • What if Steve Menzies were to come back to NRL for one last season after his Super League stint, I know it won't happen, but he'd absolutely smash Lockyer's record.... If he had never left Manly he would be well over 400 games now and counting.
  • something I'd like to know is, theoretically speaking/thinking, if Hindy or anyone else for that matter broke Lockyers record do you think they would get the same kiss arse reception that locky is getting?, I mean I read somewhere that Parramatta requested before the NRL draw for 2011 had even been made that The Eels get a home game for Hindys 300th........ shut down!, Broncos have asked for a home game and the Nine network is shifting everything around to get the last game LIVE on that Sunday and they get whatever they F-ing want, or is this just another News Limited throwing their weight around story, sorry for my rant but It's been on my mind for a while
    • You might be onto something there IKWT, News Limited still runs this shit show as far as i can see so nothing would surprise me
