Tim Mannah has signed a three year extension with the Parramatta Eels, while hooker Matt Keating has also agreed to stay with the club for another two years.
The announcement was made tonight at the Season Launch Gala Ball.
“I love the place,” said Mannah, who now shapes as a potential Eels captain. “I feel like it’s the start of a new chapter in the Club’s history.
“It’s like a second home for me here. From the players, to the coaching staff, to the people in the office and our sponsors and Members, it’s all made me feel really comfortable about playing here.”
Meanwhile the 24 year old Keating said new coach Stephen Kearney was a key reason in his decision to commit to the Eels.
“I’m a local junior so I’m happy to stay and I’m excited to be working with Steve,” Keating says.
“We have a good core of players and we’re hoping to be around for a few years. We feel like there’s something to build on.”
Kearney said both were "important signings and we have a definite plan of where we want to be as a footy club and they are a big part of that".
“They are both local juniors and quality players that are a big part of the Club’s future and it was a priority to have them remain as part of the Club.”

YAY!
This is SUCH exciting news. What an absolute boost to our pre-season preparation.
Tim Mannah IS the future of our club and to see him commit to the club for the long term is so promising.
I am also really happy MK is staying on too - it shows that he is part of our future plans and that SK has faith in his ability and his role in our team.
I actually cannot express how happy I am with this news!!
I never had a doubt about Timmy - he's undoubtedly following in the footsteps of Caylo.
And as I've said a number of times, I think we will see a totally refreshed Keating this year. To me, he is exactly the kind of player Kearney will like and I'm not surprised he's re-signed. Tough defensively, tries his arse off every week, and has good basic skills that can be used to good effect in structured plays.
This year is actually starting out OK.
One great collective sigh of relief with Mannah and interest is piqued with SK's assesment of MK.
I think the team would also take a lot of positive from these signings as well.
I hope we didn't pay much for Keating - he's useless!!
Great news on Mannah, never had any doubts!
Great news!!!! Love them both, the future of Parramatta is looking great. Can't wait for the season to start.
