Lets not get too cocky!

Ok, we have beaten the 3 top finishing teams to get a grand finals spot.. every week everyone else thinks we have come to the end of our run, and we win again!,,, We have the best player in the world...We have 3 blokes itching to get a premiership before it is too late.. I could go on.. hell we are in with a good chance..BUT...I wish everyone would just lay of the "we have already won it" cockiness.. yep it is great to be a one eyed fan, but life has taught me that Pride does come before a crash.. I hate the way the telecrap is building it all up like it's in the bag..."road to glory" bla bla bla , god that has got to put some pressure on the players, the whole of Sydney is hell bent they will win, and will lynch them if they dash our hopes and lose. Not overly superstitious, but sometimes wonder if there is ‘summint out dere’ that does get a bit of a laugh at bringing humans down a peg or two when they get a bit too cocky LOLMelbourne unfortunately are on fire too at the moment, and two of their gun player are aching for payback for having to sit out last year’s grand final. They have racked up a bit of grand final experience over the last few years, and losing a few will make them hungry to win another. We cannot underestimate them.Having said that, I hope our teams desire to win blows them out of the park from the word go. Dont know if I could handle another nail biter!!

  • I agree 100%
Remember the tactical mistake in 1976!!!
If you don't then ask an older fan.
  • In 2001 i was saying its going to be great to hold that trophy after the game. And look what happened...

This year im waiting and hoping we win. Much different for me this year..
  • I have been nervous all week and have resisted the urge to give it to the saints and bulldogs fans for this reason fact is we haven't won anything yet...
  • My real concern is how the boys are coping mentally......
As supporters, Even we feel drained by the last 11 weeks of do or die footy.

Having said that, I am sure DA will have the boys in the right frame of mind. No doubt the boys will know its a massive challenge and will leave nothing in the sheds for this one....

I agree though its a long way from being in the Bag and any thing can happen in the 80 minutes of a GF...The Storm allways come out hard but I doubt the start we gave Newcastle in 2001 will remanifest itself this year.

The Boys are really Hungry for a premiership......so are the Storm!

So long as our defence is solid as has been over the last 11 weeks, we play our natural game and the passes stick then we are a big chance.....
    Go the mighty Eels
  • I'm quietly confident
  • I was reasonably confident until the weather forecast came out, wet weather is not going to suit us at all.
You are right about the GF experience, as they always say you have to lose one to win one, im afraid that is going to be us this year. The bright side being I think we'll be a red hot chance to take it out next year.
    • Slaytanic I agree, wet football the way we have been offloading and throwing it around is a worry, give the storm an inch and they will run with it , i'm damn nervious.
  • Well laugh at me sunday night if i am wrong , i cant even picture a loss , I have faith in this incredable teams abilities and i have faith in all you eels fans to help bring this title back home to parra leagues .
  • Arrgghh For farks sakes we are all Eeels fans and you can bet nobody is cocky we have all been through the same shit !!!

I can tell you that most on this site are just happy we are in the G/F and we are gettin carried away but why the fuck not?

they say..... and its true there aint no second prize but what these blokes have achieved is nothin short of a miracle!!!!

Yep I,m the first to admit I will be dissapointed if we lose come Sunday but i tell you what all eels fans these blokes have done something special, something that has not been done before, they have come from nowhere to get into the biggest game of their lives!!!

We have a chance....... a shot, and the fact is we have a very good chance but i can guaranttee no-one is cocky,.............................
we are all happy defintley and why wouldnt we be!!!
  • i agree totally,,,, i for one am ecstatic that they are even there and they have done extremely well to do so but we still have to play the game yet and Melbourne aren't about to stand aside and say there you go haynsey score a couple you deserved it mate and Fui run all over us with one of those great charges, as much as i hate to admit it but we will have to play well to win it despite the storms easy run in to the game.

i will be at the game and i will be chearing for my team and i will be full praise for their efforts over the past 11 weeks.

    GO PARRA!!!!!!!!!!!!
