Good on you Haynsey! Dead right!

Actually his point about Brett Finch comments re salary cap brings awareness and knowing of their salary cap being beyond tight, and regards the small amount he was paid by storm is something I wasn't aware of... Brett was.
Tbh I find it irritating that 2009 premiership  is always included in Storms winning portfolio too.

Besides all the dodgy salary cap stuff, I recall listening to Cronk, On The Couch, where he said they concentrated heavily all week prior on just coming up with a plan to stop Hayne. Was a great show actually.

Anyway, not your fault at all Jarryd buddy! Gave us much joy watching him play and what a year it was :)

Not sure if I can paste it all here, so here's the link ...

  • Good on Hayne for being the only Parramatta player I have seen from 2009 actually give it to Melbourne. I've seen interviews with Hindmarsh, Cayless, Mannah etc, they all seem ok with the whole Melbourne rorting the salary cap for nearly five years and cheating the whole competition. None of them had a bad word to say about Melbourne.

    • i see your point 'steely'' the only problem is that i suspect everyone was guilty during this generalised period of taking backhanders. we know that hayne was for example.

i am not making excuses, to this day the nrl should review those premierships that melbourne stole and the runners up announced as winners.....this would ultimately kill any arguments of teams and coaches records being falsey paraded.

It is a shame that vlandys was not a parra supporter, he is one of the only ones that would do such a thing and think nothing off it.....the other muppets that have been there would never have had the balls.

ps why cannot we as a supporters group encourage our board to recommend a formal review of the decisions to not raise the runners up to the status of winners. Other sports (olympic games) means a realoctaion other a disqualification!

      • Carl Lewis got exactly what you described Pops for Ben Johnson's blatant cheating.im with you we as a club should have stood up and made a case.

You try to do it honestly and properly and still get screwed yet all we did is go hide in the shade and continue to wear the 40 year drought line that the media and alike feast on.

      • Pops how do you know that Hayne was taking backhanders at the same time as storm were ripping off the cap? We are talking approx 2005- 2009. Don't think so. Their cheating went back many years which helped keep their chosen ones together.

      • Your crazy..lol the topic is the Melbourne cap scandal as the Title  suggests..FFS focus for once in your life, your definitely NOT a fine wine haha

  • I have always been one to say that someone must be declared the winner of the competition.

If it has been declared that the Storm cheated and they were not considered the winners then just like the Olympics the title goes to the runner up.

2009 Eels Premiership! I can't see it it any other way. The club should consider having a trophy made and displayed at HQ. That would throw the cat among the pigeons with the Storm proudly showing off their Trophy for the same year.

One small thing that haunts me, as you say here, not one other Eels player has ever come out and called it as it is. WHY!  I do hope we were not rorting at the same time.
