In his reply to 'The Cast Patrol', Hayne wrote: "One team didn't lose. They were cheated. Plz (sic) get it right."
Good on you Haynsey! Dead right!
Actually his point about Brett Finch comments re salary cap brings awareness and knowing of their salary cap being beyond tight, and regards the small amount he was paid by storm is something I wasn't aware of... Brett was.
Tbh I find it irritating that 2009 premiership is always included in Storms winning portfolio too.
Besides all the dodgy salary cap stuff, I recall listening to Cronk, On The Couch, where he said they concentrated heavily all week prior on just coming up with a plan to stop Hayne. Was a great show actually.
Anyway, not your fault at all Jarryd buddy! Gave us much joy watching him play and what a year it was :)
Not sure if I can paste it all here, so here's the link ...

Im with you on this Wiz, im liking Hayne sticking up for the club, and how long is Hindy going to be a puppet on chimp Johns?
Jarryd is always at the home games and wish he can be part of the club moving forward.
With you on that Chief. He deserves to be! If not just for his ability and loyalty, I'd love to know how many young fans Hayne swung over to us.
Its truly a disgrace he never features on any nrl propaganda anywhere, us included. Hope that changes.
Chief I have met Jarryd a few times from a mutual friend and he loves the club and always defends it and has tried to be a part of the club even in coaching younger players but the club wouldn't entertain it, quite sad but sports (and businesses) are so scared these days of backlash and any negative reporting.
" Finch was our highest paid player" Macy Ive never heard that, its even more scandalous haha who would have thought
It does imply again that he was paid underhand. Coincedently the year that storm is 100% over the cap.
They felt guilty and signed him for 50k, surprisingly though ingliss had 2 boats in his backyard for the agistment period.
When we recruited Finch he was a State of Origin halfback. You look across the rest of our squad and there's no one else who could really command top dollar. Hayne was a talent but had an average 2008 and wasn't a spine player, Matt Keating was average, Jeff Robson was average, Mortimer hadn't even debuted.
It was a bum team. Literally one of the worse Eels teams to grace a paddock on paper. Backs were respectable, kinda. But we had no right being as good as we were that season. Hayne was outstanding for half of the 2009 season. Carried a whole team to the GF on his back it should've went down in history as the year 1 bloke won a team a Grand Final. Honourable mention to Fui.
Yet despite that he is permitted to sign with storm for 50K haha it's just wrong !
ive lost track re date of Folau episode where we weren't permitted to sign him under value. Or when our players wanted desperately to keep Kingston and offered a pay cut.
Doesn't take away from the fact that Smith, Slater, Inglis and possibly Cronk will be future immortals. The money or boats or whatever they received didn't make them better players.
True, but being able to stick and play together as they grew probably helped. What the club did to help that happen is the issue.
