Lol... We have been the first team to even compete with the Cowboys in Townsville this year, and we were leading. No team in the world would beat them down a man. Ever.
In the footage I saw, there was acceptable jostling but when Norman grabbed the cows player by the shoulder, his right hand is clearly seen over the cows players right shoulder closish to the neck try to pull him back, not seen the other way around, A penalty yes, sin bin NO!
Its permissible to use the shoulder, arm & hand down the side to gain an advantage but not in the way that Norman used his.
The use of the sin bin was over the top, & on that basis I would expect that the refs would need to be very clear on this in the future, the biggest question to me is where is the consistency?
If we were to reflect on this game & then think on how things were last year, the biggest problem the eels still have is their stupid periods of ill discipline. I say problem but I bet BA's is totally frustrated by it, simple errors, & the stupid penalties allowed the cows back into the game & they took advantage.
BA has Referees at the training & they ref in real time game scenarios, & penalties given which is then explained to the players & coach. The players are told to be in control & eliminate those mistakes, but they have brain snaps or something which is what cost the win & points.
The time really has come to warn of being dropped if they make those bloopers, problem is that with the wenty team getting thumped there's not a lot of options.

May have, but it happened. Sin bin NO! Penatly Yes. & Dirk is correct. Eels lost the game, done blame anyone else. The thing still has to be a consistency in the refs making decisions, both on the field & in the bunker.
Other thing of course is that the refs boss has to now make his call & say to the refs that they are to be consistent. & apply it to them as well. BA is supposed to be submitting a report form & ask for clarification, he is doing it the right way.
"Matterson defence is pretty good, if he has a decent off season he could get that bench spot, can play anywhere in the forward pack, so could be handy "
"Point is , he'll hardly be getting Moses money just cause he gets to kick. . We aren't shy to throw a decent paycheque out there and we certainly have some. If we offered that clown that kinda coin , I'm sure we wouldn't have been offering Peasant…"

DICK Nagel the players and coaching staff know the rules, the question is about consistency.
IT seems to me they have not been taught the basics..should be highlighted at the video review
Yes, 10 minutes in the sin bin with 15 minutes to go is tough but Brad should train them for that scenario as well.
No excuse for letting those cowboys off the hook!

I totally agree with you Dirk.
