A general meeting for the Parramatta Leagues Club has been called for 27 July at 7pm at the Leagues Club itself.
At this meeting an important constitutional resolution is being put to a vote and one that is incredibly important for the continued stability of the club.
The new resolution will prevent someone standing for election to the board if they have had an adverse finding made against them by a regulatory body or court under the Registered Clubs Act.
This means that anyone involved in Parramatta's ill-fated salary cap saga and mis-management of club funds would be excluded from ever running for the board again.
This was originally put forward by Max Donnelly but due to endless politicking and delaying by those club members who would be excluded by these rules, it was decided to pass this requirement at a later date.
That time is now and will help to further solidify the governance of the club.
You can vote in-person at the meeting or online. If you are an eligible member you will have received an email with your password to log-in and vote on the resolution.

You'd hope this vote is as close to unanimous as possible.
Any logical person would agree with you. Unfortunately there are those who simply cannot let go of their obsession of running the club again one day. And this simple and logical change will prevent that. It certainly speaks to the calibre of those individuals that they would be threatened by this change.
Just voted now online. Don't you love modern technology.
Probably the most important part of the new constitution. Really limits the chance of a 100 person voting block swinging a vote their way.
What did you need to supply to vote online ? Just your membership number?
I had to inbox the clubs email a dick pic , address it to Philip Sim. They sent me back a $100 voucher for the bistro.
I received correspondence by post.
in the letter was a QR code that I scanned and was taken to the voting website.
the letter also provided a PIN for online voting which you enter along with your membership number.
You get an email with a unique PIN.
(check you junk inbox. Mine went there)
