Last nights Boxing

Good to see both our boys won their fights. Paulo looking fit and absolutely destroyed Hannant. RCG victorious over Taumalolo who was touted as having very good boxing skills. I think the boxing training works wonders for Junior.Did anyone else watch the fights and what were your thoughts? Yes, they are all Rugby League Players having a crack at boxing and not professional fighters!EE

  • Junior should have fought Nelson, hannet and Wallace risked injury for a paycheck

    • What a joke hey, they find the two biggest blokes in the game and get them to fight two old hasbeens that were not even remotely known as enforcers in their prime.

At least Reg can hold his head high as having fought someone almost on par physically.

  • Zero interest in watching amateur boxing.

Fitness wise it will be good for Junior who was shite last season and list more battles in the middle then he won so hopefully this has some sort of benefit.

    • He looked very much overweight to me.

Could just be the camera angle I saw.

  • Ben Hannant 😂.  Anyone shocked that Paulo fought the softest bloke you could possibly find outside Ben Creagh ?

  • Paulo is a beast of a fighter who almost knocked Gallen out when they fought a few years ago. If he dedicated himself full time to boxing he would be superior to Gallen. Basically knocked Hannant, who we've seen can take a punch, out with his first flurry of punches.

I would love to see Paulo fight Nelson Asofa - that would be a great fight but I'm  not sure either club they play for would endorse it.

RCG was impressive against the bigger Taumololo. He won the fight comfortably- I can't believe one judge scored it to JT lol.

Tevita Pengai looks like he might be actually a decent fighter too with some more time under his belt

    • I assume you mean bigger regarding Taumolo in terms of boxing reputation, because RCG is the larger of the two physically.  He is taller and weighs more!

      • RCG is taller but Taumololo is thicker - if RCG weighs more it would be marginal.

        • On paper RCG is 2kg heavier. He however weigjhs more than the 117kg on his stats as he stated his boxing training had him weighing a new weight which was over 120KG for a long time.  RCG is taller and heavier.  He is the larger of the two on both counts! Intended purely as a joke, but your are obviously a girth man.

          • I'm definitely a girth man.

Mate even the commentators were saying Taumololo was the bigger boxer so unless everyone's eyes were deceiving themselves that was the case.
