Lack Of On Field Leadership In 2019?

Its obvious our on field leadership has been poor for a long time, Tim is not the answer moving forward and has never been the answer.

We need to start thinking about the future captaincy wise, start laying the foundations.

Whilst Guth has gone ok in his role as capt, is he the guy to take us into the future?

We need a captain bought in, said it for years but thats exactly what we need to do because i cant see many candidates at the club.

Whats your thoughts on the captaincy and lack of leadership shown on the park for us, how would you fix it?

  • The short answer is we dont have a player that is that strong leadership type.
We have strong "follow me" style players like Brown but we need someone with smarts and decusional leadership.
As it stands, group as is, and if the rumour of a mid year rev up are true i would choose Hayne.
    • So what do you do?

Another year it looks like we will be going into the year with the same drama weve had for years.

      • i think parra will sign a few props on nov 1  , with the new football manager ,one could be a dogs  prop, who plays for nsw  , and a manly prop,  matty.

if both sign  tim surely has no spot in parras  top side.

talked to a  trainer from  westigers     at castle hill towers a few days ago,  he says cleary  may be out of the tigers with in two weeks , gus  wants to trade  penrith  prop  meron  for cleary ,plus a pay out.

wayne  or  marge  , may be the new coach for 2019.

he told me parra may sign klemmer  ...he heard..

        • Robert, Mark O’Neill won’t have even signed his contract by that time let alone had enough time to be involved in recruitment.

There really are som daft people on this site.

  • There isnt anyone on the market currently i would sign to be a captain. Brown maybe able to take the role he ded3 leads from the front and tries to fire the boys up only player that bothers but woukd still need to learn how to be a captain etc
  • snake agree tim  should retire, if we get a few more big forwards tim may find it hard to get a spot in the pack or bench.

we should pay cam smith  1 year 1.2 ml   ,   when we look back now we can see  clear,  cory norman is light years behind cam smith , and mitch  mose  is light years behind cooper cronk  ..

they are the gold mine and our halfs are the shaft .... at least with our new manager  of fooball, brad arthur  will have less say..

    have a great day

  • If we sign another prop Tim will be playing for wenty. Can’t see him getting past:

    8. Prop signing
    10. Paulo
    13. Brown
    14. Alvaro
    15. Terepo
    16. Utility
    17. Second rower
  • Tim should be released i agree. Next year will be his last
  • We did that with Foz & Beau Scott, people weren’t happy with that either

    • Beau was very solid his first 2 years, i think he helped out with on field leadership quite a bit but hes not a natural talker or a guy whos going to deal with refs, we never bought him as a captain.

Foz didnt work out, most were stoked that he was signed and would be a leader, turns out he was never fit for the job, whos fault was that?

He clearly came to the club with a tonne of preexisting problems, id suggest BA knew of most, was desperate and signed him.
