Lack of direction.... Who was our 5/8?

I saw a real problem after Norman went of ff... As we all did. But I've got to question the reorganisation of the side when he did. Who the fark was our 5:8. I thought it may of been peats but then he was at hooker every second play. Then I thoigjt when Pritchard came on peats would definately play 5/8 but then Pritchard is taking hit ups. At one point I saw Paulo being the link man and Edwards too. Can anyone tell me. Because it wasn't clear to me which shows a lot of disorganisationbb in my eyes....

Kenny Edwards was 5/8

Kenny was in the second half and didn't our left defence look great. His utility role has gone to another level - secondrow, lock, hooker and now 5/8. He will definitely lock down a bench position after filling in at 5/8.

I thought Tanga looked good too he slotted in at first receive on occasion.

edwards was 5/8, Pritchard came on as lock, thats why he was running as first/second receiver off runs and peats was hooker predominantly for 75 mins, pritchard and peats switched around in the last 5 or so minutes and both played a linking role at times.

When norman came off it proved that this kelly is there to steer the ship BS that BA has been saying is complete BS. Norman has had to control and create for the last 2 years with kelly/sandow as halfback, he must be cheering about Foran.

  Nobody ever said Kelly was there to steer the ship. He is a backup filling in for injury. It wasn't his fault he found himself the only half on the field. That just made it easier for the Broncos to pressure him.

When Norman went off Kelly should hav been the go to guy & been first receiver as much as possible.

Instead he decides to get involved only on the 5th or 6th tackles.

Watch Thurston or Johnston this weekend they are first or second receivers for nearly every play.

Kelly is not even in the same class as these guys shadows.

  There's no need to touch the ball for the sake of it. Guys like Thurston handle the ball a lot because they have the freedom to play what's in front of them, meaning if the play calls for them to turn the ball inside for a hit up on tackle three, they'll do that unless they see an opportunity elsewhere. Then they can change the play.
  
  Kelly doesn't have that ability so he doesn't have that freedom. He just talks and makes sure people stick to the gameplan, and gives the catch-pass when it's needed. He's not the guy you want making chasing opportunities. That's Norman's job.

Beer Baron, the problem was not disorganization but too much organization. Edwards played 5/8 on the left side and played a strict running role, aiming to break the line and pass. Paulo and Ma'u did similar. But they're forwards, so we cut them some slack. Kelly stuck rigidly to the right side and only got involved on 5-6th tackle. So in effect, too predictable. BA noted we were "all over the shop", but he was pointing out the lack of composure an planning. Kelly was there to do that and failed.

Yes Poupou BA did minutes before the game, and he has said it last year a few times. They asked BA if Norman will have additional pressure on him and his response was no, Norman is at his best when he is playing whats in front of him, Kelly will do most of the organising.
