Its been rumoured over the weekend, not sure just how true it is yet.
If he has told porkies there will be an arrest warrant issued on Thursday and Australia does have a treaty with France. Semi will end up in cuffs soon if he is not smart.
Dave if Semi is found guilty of the charges he faces could that stop him travelling to france?
What countries don't allow you to visit if you have a conviction like that?
From my understanding most western countries will not give a visa to a person if they have been convicted of criminal offence(s) with a custodial sentence (prison term) of 12 months or more.
If both the prosecution witnesses and Semi do not attend the hearing on 13/2/2017 the Magistrate will could hear the matter ex-parte or dismiss the charges. Most likely will dismiss the charges.
The reason why Ma'u and Wicks didn't go the USA in the past with the rest of the team was because they couldn't get a visa.
There wouldn't be anything stopping Semi from travelling to France right now but come Wednesday when the matter is relisted he will have to justify his reasons for being out of the Country and not being at Court.
Semi's ability to get a visa will depend on what if any sentence he may occur. Some countries are more strict on drug matters and some are more strict on matters of violence.
If the alleged matter of Semi "allegedly" kicking his partner (who was about 8 months pregnant) in the stomach is made out he could get a short custodial sentence. The two lesser offences will probably only bring Good Behaviour Bonds.
My understanding middle eastern and Asian countries are more stricter then western countries in relation to visas.
If an arrest warrant is issued on Thursday he will most likely be arrested in Fiji and brought back home to Australia.
Thanks mate, that explains a lot.
