With apparently one spot left in our top 30 I believe we need to strengthen our halfback/hooker depth. With Rein disappearning we only have JH and Hands who can play 9 whilst Moses is the only proper halfback.
I share the opinion with essentially everyone here about Hands needing to start at 9 and JH leaving. However, some people have expressed the concern off burning Hands out in his first NRL season playing 80 minutes weekly. This brings up the question which can player can cover 7 and 9 at an affordable price? ANSWER = Kyle Flanagan
Flanagan has definitely coped a lot of hate and was the scapegoat at the roosters a couple years ago. He will probably go to Dragons next year to reunite with his father. However, with his struggling to get any game time at dogs with Burton, Olapau, Rajab and Mahoney, how would offering a 14 spot at eels go? Hands can start 9 and and Flanno at 14. Flanno has been killing it at hooker in reserve grade and the one bright moment he had this week in the NRL was scoring a try down the blind side from dummy half although he played in the halves. If he ever needs to play at 7 if Moses is out, he just needs to steer the team around, defend and kick well. Gutho and 6 (DB or Asi) can control the attack. This way no JH for the rest of the year and we are not burning out Hands in his first year in the NRL.
My only concern is that if we only have one top 30 spot left, our centre/winger depth quality is atrocious and needs fixing.

Nope. Yates can do that job.
Yates is a lock and hooker. He is not a halfback lol
The point is we can move players around to fill those gaps. Why would we sign Flanagan after releasing JA?
Anyway Flanagan will go to Dragons for sure.
Neither is Flanagan.
You're joking right, honestly Kyle Flannaghan jesh
No, he would be going to the Dragons with his dad after hunt leaves anyway
Apparently Shane Flanagan told Hunt he is no longer needed. He's boy is going to the drag-ons.
Think it's the other way round
no way
He is on 500k+ following his Roosters contract. He won't sign with us a depth player with Moses and Brown in front of him. If he would, then yes, I agree with your reasoning.
