Kris Keating will get City call-up

Kris Keating is on the verge of his first representative jumper, with the Eels being informed today that the young half has been named in the City Origin squad of 18.

Club officials have been told that Keating will be selected in the City squad.

Keating's name was thrown into calculations last week, along with Manly half and former Eels junior teammate Trent Hodkinson. Both young players came to the fore, after injuries to former State of Origin halves Mitchell Pearce and Peter Wallace.

However, it appears that Keating has been rewarded for a display that earned him a number of Man of the Match plaudits with his first rep selection.

It remains to be seen where Keating will be named. He could be given the number seven jersey where he would most likely play alongside John Sutton, or his versatility could see him used off the bench.

Keating is set to sign a new deal with the Eels later this month.

  • Good on him. Especially after last year. Hope the re-signing comes soon. I have a feeling that as each week goes on his value will increase too.
  • This is fantastic for KK because of what he went through last season. This can only improve his confidence.

I am so proud to be a KK fan right now! :-)
  • JUST DON'T GET INJURED! Please don't get injured. I don't want a single rep player injured.
  • When is the team announced?

"Actually I'd go one further and delete this dumb post. "Dogs now heavy favourites for Galvin", I mean it's no scoop if you catch any mainstream journo dribble?

"Yep, me too! He's been pretty accurate with a number of other predictions from sourced over the past few weeks. I'll take that over any dog ass journalist covering NRL, they're a joke!!!"
