Kris Keating is a champion

I cant believe a blog like "Kris Keating hogs the ball" gets so many replies. The guy is a champion with a big future. If people want to have a go at players for costing the game then humble is the guy that should be copping the heat. He's a try bomber not a try scorer, he's to kick happy and never chooses the right option. Kris should have got the ball more often in the second half against the sharks cause he looked like a threat everytime he had the ball.

  • Bit hypocritical gonefishing... I don't think any of our players should be criticised. Humble did a tremendous job for only his 2nd showing in the top grade and KK had a solid game for his 1st game back from a knee injury. Both are very handy talents with tremendous potential.
  • Both the Keating boys regularly get bashed by pretty much all but a select few on this forum. Humble's played two games of NRL yet he's 'Wally Lewis - The Sequel' and the most critical remarks Morts has copped on here are along the lines of, "Gee, Morts is a bit down on form - particularly considering the $250k we reportedly paid for him..."

Nobody likes to be associated with failure and people need a scapegoat. Once upon a time it was Tim Smith, now its Kris Keating. I've come to the conclusion that this will never change until people do what I do...put some $$ on the Sharks (they were paying $3.85), collect the winnings, blame the ref (or in this case video ref) for the loss and move on!!
  • Kris Keating is a good running half, I think he had a quiet one by his standards on Saturday night (and it probably wasn't a good time to have a quite one with Hayne out) but otherwise he has been good this year.

As for being a hog, well he probably is a bit but that is just him playing to his strengths, becuase he doesn't have a great before the line passing game. His passing at or through the line is awesome though.
  • What a crock of shit! No wonder ur screen name is gonefishing!!! Are u trying to put the bait on ppl? Humble kicked 2 balls if i remember correctly one was on 4th tackle and the other was a grubber for Grothe. Humble is a much better half then he is a fullback and once DA and Kenny realise that and play him at his preferred postion maybe ppl like u wont come out of the closet to bag him. Im glad u get these opinions from 2 games and obviously have never watched or followed the kid over the years like some of us!!

Pack the icebox and head out fishing where all good keyboard coaches belong!
    • lol @ keyboard coaches.. good one!

I agree with you ParraGirl 100% with everything you said..!!!!

I think Humble and Keating have a big future ahead of them, and will shut up a lot of their critics.
  • If you want to blame an NRL rookie in only his second gqame, you should give yourself an uppercut, there is no "I" in team, to circle just one player is unfair as it is moronic, Why dont you blame grothe for not passing to reddy when he made the break in the second half, or blame reddy when he miskicked on the third tackle? there was plenty of other reasons that the TEAM lost. So get over it and get positive for the dragons on friday night!
  • I don't know what this criticism of Tom Humble is about???? I know I had quite a few beverages on Saturday

and maybe that blurred my vision but I thought he went quite well. He certainly wasn't the reason Parramatta lost.
  • Hey no one said he aint got a big future nor anyone said the kid cant play..But lets face the facts the kid keating is a hog, there is times when he should let the ball go but he decides to run himself and he constantly repeats himself.

And for his brother Matt keating oh please my grand father can play better. Before you reply just remember im entitled to my own opinion the same way you are.

I have to eyes that can see,and they cant see Matt keating as a good footballer at the moment.
  • I'm not going to get into another keating argument... less I be labelled a hussy for dating both of them at the same time.

It is no secret that I think they are both tremendous players, with talent that would do better with a bit more love from their fans.

As for Tommy 'let's get Reddy to' Humble, as I have said he is not going to have a perfect game, because no one ever does and the step is a big one from Wenty - but he did really well. He is confident, does his best and looks like a really promising player for the future.

I think it is often forgotten about how young these men are and that the criticism's of them can mainly be put down to a lack of experience... which will really only come with time.

I do heart the Keating boys though!
