Kris Keating -

Look this is probably a bit harsh and a little personal for a person that i dont know at all, BUT Kris Keating in my opinion believes his own hype.

This is just my opinion but anyone close to the club knows the rap on the kid half the ppl at parramatta think he will play for NSW, Australia etc(and have thought this for years).. So to me who has seen a little of him but not enough to make a judgement would assume he must have ability. When i watch him play tho it looks like he just believes all this hype of he will play origin and so on, will just come easy.

Tonight i think the tigers sent alot of traffic at him and it affected his energy level but he didnt show any urgency or hunger i would expect considering he was playing for a position. This was the perfect opportunity

I dont blame him on our loss the whole team was horrible and i think he has unfortunately looked bad because the team was bad the same thing happen to him last year.

Lets compare him to daniel mortimer, when morts played his first couple of games he looked that excited and that pumped and was just striving to play above his ability and since then has continually improved and has been focused on improving.. Kris keating to me just looks like he assumes it will happen for him.

If he wants to play in the halves and move either morts or robo from the starting side he will have to work hard and show alot more than he has at this point.

  • Thought KK was our best tonite. It was a hot night, by half time we'd done twice as many tackles and we were zonked. we got outplayed tonight but them the breaks. Hey, everyone tried. My only two concerns would be - ALL their tries (AGAIN) were to Grothe's wing and I didn't see much of Tahu. (Saw heaps of Tiquiri but not much of Tahu).
  • Gawd fuk here we go again about Grothe has anyone really though about the tries Grothe conceded tonight that the team was under massive amounts of pressure and placed Grothe under this pressure the tries were not scored from wide out or long range so to me Grothe cannot be solely responsible for the points conceded tonight on his wing!!!!

Criticism where criticism is due but to use the ole liner that Grothe came in off his wing or some crap like that does not wash, the TEAM not Grothe were beaten fairly and squarely
  • Our halves aren't playing with any clear direction and I think Ando has to take some blame for this because he hasn't provided any firm structure. Again, Kris played some half back, Robson played some halfback. I'm happy to stuff around with every position on the field but you need to have a half back that you can base your team around. Robson ain't it, so lets decide if its Mortimer or Keating and stick him there and start building some combinations and plays. We just have zero structure right now unless Hayne gets involved.
  • Keating was our best by far.... He just needs guidance, unfortunately Robson is not right for him.

Keating would blossom under a Kimmorly or Thurston etc
  • I'm not suggesting it's Grothe's fault. But surely logic would say "hey, teams score a hell of a lot of points against us on our left wing" and we'd try and do something to rectify that. Surely?
  • 100% agree with you mate. The tries scored on grothes wing I would not say were conseeded by Guru. In most of these occasions there was little grothe could have done to prevent these tries. Especially that amazing put down by Loti, that play was almost unstopable. The bounce on that ball was just absolutly perfect. It is a common misconception that grothes wing is vulnerable and teams have tried to exploit this time and time again. And more often than not they come up with nothing.

Nut gotta agree with johnny, KK and Inu outshon the rest of the team by far. Make no mistake KK is definatly a player to keep an on. With a little more development I can see him at 5 8th for parra and one day quite possibly playing for the blues.
  • arent we buying thurston for next year? what end up happening with that?
  • Yea, he should sloutch a bit ppl will like him more.

I honestly dont think he is ready to guide the team at 7 id rather tim smith play for us next week,
  • To be honest I was disappointed by Robson tonight, but I thought KK was close to our best, He seemed to add a spark to our attack every time he touched the all.

I still wish Mateo received early ball more often, I don' care what number he wears he is such a dangerous player.
  • Don't say keating would blossom under Kimmorley or Thurston, the halfbacks of the two other clubs that are after him. You're gonna jinx it mate.
