Knights sign Hayne...

It’s just now a matter of keeping on developing his skills, his football awareness and intuition around the game.“Boys that have been in our development program since they were 13 years old, they’ve got four or five years head start on him, but in a couple of years he could probably be similar to a Daniel Saifiti (Knights forward) or a Villiame Kikau, who plays at Penrith.“We see him in that sort of mould.“He’s in constant contact with myself and Alex, we see him all the time but our junior rep coaches in Scott Dureau (SG Ball) and Rory Kostjaysen (Harold Matthews) are doing a lot of teaching with him at the moment.“And they’re happy with him. He’s learning quickly.“We’re not going to rush him. It’s going to take a while. He still hasn’t turned 17, so we can be patient.’’Thompson — who has the same grandmother as Hayne — has also spent time with the Gold Coast Titans star since arriving in Australia.
