Parramatta will never win a Grand Final with this guy refereeing. Despite Parramatta having the momentum he allowed Melbourne to slow down the play the ball speed of Parramatta and then added to this he allows Melbourne to be constantly offside. Almost every tackle Melbourne attack the face of eels players and Nelson flops in Leading with the elbow. Can we overcome this not sure but when you watched Roosters that simply will not put up with this crap.. Having a fullback as captain does not help. You need a player constantly in the refs ear. The Melbourne 1/2's where constantly in the refs ear and got away with it all night and eventually the squealing pays off. So we need to have more fight in the tackles in attack both by the player with the ball and others coming in and constantly let the ref know they are being held down. Klein must love Munster because he held down in every tackle but was never penalised. How often was a player in our halves face from the play the ball. Melbournes forwards must be Olympic athletes to be the first to charge down a kick. But Klein keeps letting them get away with it. The other irritating thing with Klein is allowing Melbourne to step past the dummy half and play the ball and then Klein calls the eels offside.
Basically at the moment when the eels play other teams with Klein Refeeing they are simply bullied out of the game. I know Brad wants his team to be a clean side which is good but we need to have a bit more mungrel especially when Klein is refereeing. Same happened in Last years Grand Final.

Yeah can't agree tonight. Usually he certainly has it in for us but I thought he gave us every opportunity tonight. We got a few calls go our way.
It's not the calls it is the constant slow down in our play the ball and the offside play that he allows. We need to work out a way to deal with it. We changed a tactic by doing run arounds which helped a bit but they constantly got up between our players. But I really thing we need to be more aggressive.
Klein allowed both sides latitude in the ruck. We got plenty of good calls. We sucked
We should have been awarded that first try, the ball floated forward after being passed backwards. To make up for it Klein let Hodgeson throw 20 forward passes from dummy half 😂🤣😂
The lack of impact from the bench was the problem, penisini trying to milk a penalty got him taken from the field at a crucial time. The ref was not to blame
He's an average ref at best, yes. Agree re Munster, he is allowed to go to sleep on whoever he tackles... that said... wasn't the reason we lost. We got away with a bit, heap of forward dh passes etc. Even with him as ref we should have won by a dozen, that's on us.
Speech, you must have been sitting behind me at the game because everything you've said I was saying all night. Right down to the fullback being captain and ineffective when communicating with the referee.
However, we just need to be better than this. In the end we lost because of poor execution and decisions we made, not the calls Klein didn't.
Melbourne got away with murder in the ruck last night. Penrith did the same to us in the Grand Final early on before they blew us off the park. Klein is an atrocious referee and teams have worked out they can be offside and spoil in the ruck against us and get away with it when Klein is referee. It's not bias, he just refuses to penalise sides. It's not his job to give latitude in the ruck, it's his job to police the ruck. His style of refereeing does not suit us at all
BUT, we need to find a way to overcome that as the powers that be at the NRL think he is the best referee in the game. Whining about Klein is not going to help us win games. I think we should start a melee, nothing crazy to get sent off but drag a player off our player and start some push and shove and then Gutho needs to tell Klein if you don't police the ruck we will. BA could call out Klein and his bosses out in the media. We need respond in turn and hold down the other team and spoil their quick play the balls. And the best cure for this is to get our offloads going.
OMG! Just stop complaining. Everyone needs to stop complaining and start expecting our team to start doing the same. Push the boundaries in the ruck and see what we can get away with. Melbourne and Penrith do it best. We're afraid of getting penalised so we get up so quickly.
100% but it's still frustrating to watch. It makes for a shit game of footy.
