Kirisome Auva'a retires

Parramatta centre Kirisome Auva'a has today retired from football - at just 26 years of age.A nagging back injury has resulted in Auva’a’s premature retirement from the game and the shattered Samoan international told teammates of his decision this morning."My back has been bad for several years and even after surgery a couple of years ago, I’ve had problem after problem," Auva'a told Wide World of Sports.

  • Thanks to him for his efforts at the club, always played tough with the ball in hand, all the best luck to him in the future.

  • Played well when fit. I thought he gave his all in 2017 and played well above his contract amount which would have been close to minimum
  • Had potential to be special when he was at bunnies however the incident & an unlucky run with injuries cost his career.

  • Back injuries never really properly heal. If it's as bad as it sounds it's the right call. Thanks for your efforts Some.

  • Thanks for your efforts mate, good luck in the future

"True. Richard was good too. I expect him at some stage this year to be thrown a first grade jersery to cover for injuries/ suspension.
In general out junior stocks look top stuff and it hasnt been that way for over 20 years with the 2001 baby Eels."
