There were so many pleasing aspects to Sunday's game against the Broncos.
One thing that stood out to me was King Gutho's leadership which might not have stood out on TV.
I kept a close eye on him. He was constantly organising his players particularly in defence. He never stopped talking/yelling (to be heard) at them.
Long live the king.

Great Blog .I was there and I noticed the same thing and he seemed to be enjoying every minute.Yes ,he was quite an inspiration and 100% involved Never thought Parra would be able to reach the heights that the Top Four have had over the other teams but I think they did on Sunday
He is warming to the task. I still think he has a while to go before he enters the territory of an elite leader. He needs to stay composed more often, work on his public persona (He struggles sometimes during interviews) and needs to be more consistent in his performances. Traditionally, consistency and effort was his main attribute, but not this year.
Great constructive criticism Johnny and totally agree with you.He has had an up and down season and was off the boil so let’s hope he maitains that form he showed on Sunday and gets a Grand Final.Go the Mighty Eels.
Yes I noticed same , organising , revving up players etc . The contract saga put me off spaniel a bit but I’m back in the palace now .
Some of his passes were fantastic too
The contract saga was a bit crappy Carlo, but a lot of it was pushed by the media I believe.
The King revs the fans up after scoring and such as well. I love how he also claps the fans when he knows they have been vocal and helped the cause, he is aware of his entire surroundings, on and off the field ...... On another note i was impressed with Dylan Browns involvement and the beginnings of taking lead on attacking raids, We might just now have two prongs to begin our attack with keeping the opposition in two minds.....
Lovin Footy ......... Lovin our Eels
He’s probably the best ball playing fullback in the game now. He’s also very intelligent and he has realised that getting Sivo one on one with his oppositie equals try time.
Spot on, he's not the biggest fullback, he's not the quickest, doen't have the footwork to dance around defenders, nor is he the most athletic but he probably possesses the highest IQ for full backs in the NRL. He's a great support player and sniffs out short side numbers like a bloodhound.
Yeah, I smashed him for his contract renewel saga and how he and his manager went about it via the press and talking to Manly but he's a brilliant leader and footballer.
X10 he is outta the doghouse now
