I was hoping for a change in coaching team at the end of this season but as I've commented before in this current economic climate I thought it was EXTREMELY unlikely the board would pay out BA.
The signing of his assistants for 2022 whilst disappointingly points to another year under BA, what I believe this is signaling is a clean cut from all coaching staff at the end of next year.
A 1 year extension for next year looks a pretty clear pointer to "Team BA" being collectively shown the door at the end of next year UNLESS a miracle occurs and we make a BIG impact in the finals next year.
Sadly the board has acted conservativeky (as I predicted) but look to be setting things up for a clear out
I take no joy in being the voice of sober reason but to me this was always going to be the outcome.
I'll be setting my alarm for 2023 and wake up to a brighter new world....I hope.

I really don't know what to say. Maybe the next 2 week results will say it all. I hope we see some player smiling faces as they run onto the field against the storm and laughter as our players walk off the field at full time
No way, the club is in the business of winning premiership so why write off a whole year? Seems like we don't have to clean out just the coaching roster but maybe we have to have at least one footy head on the board, did someone say Wayne Bennett director of football!!!
Sorry mate but makes no sense if that's the reason for doing it, if you're looking at getting rid of all of them in 2022 barring a miracle then don't sign them at all, I understand the point that if they are sacked in 2022 a new coach wants his own assistants but sign them to a 1 or 2 year deal
yeah some assistants don't want to sign for a year fair enough but one might think they could be the HC the next year and take a one year deal or try and get a decent knoe coach as assistant to put pressure on and take over if BA is sacked but these two numnuts were off contract, no pay out so makes no sense keeping them other than bowing to BA's orders
I'd say BA was asked if he'd like them extended and they gave them 1 year just like BA -
Whether we like it or not it is customary for the head coach to pick his assistant cosches..... when the head coach gets sacked the assistant coaches get sacked too
Or Embers, In the boards great wisdom they have now realigned BA's coaching team to his contract dates and next year in about round 5, when they reward and give BA another extension as he got us to the finals this year, they can negotiate the cost of the whole coaching department BA + his assistants for the following 2 years.
Not what i want but that also makes sense, as the board love BA. I'm not so sure they will sack him , the noise to do something around round 5 next year will be huge. ie " Parra cant move forward until the coach is known. , Parra cant sign stars until coach is known, etc etc etc. Parra need some stability in their coaching ranks . Board rewards BA for making the 2021 finals, 3 years in a row. I can already see it.
Exactly - imo the board have aligned all coaching contracts to end at 2022 that way it's easy to not extend any if thrir contracts - it's smart on the one hand bit dumb on the other
FMD, are these clowns re-signed for next year?
This clubs a fekking disgrace, its becomming clear theres no footy knowledge at board level.
Snake wait till I post my blog about this atrocious board and how members and fans had full warning .
