Keyboard coaches

okay all you keyboard super coaches, with no time for complacency, what's the game plan for Tomorrow night V Bunnies?

I for one would tell moses and mahoney to kick early in the count, behind Mitchell to gas him out (similar to dragons tactic againgst us?)

And complete sets.

  • Pretty much what we've been doing most of the year, strong defence, good kick chase, complete sets and be patient in attack.

  • Stop throwing shit passes and we win.

Jnr Paulo and lane run the ball instead of throwing it away. Can someone pass the ball to fergo for a try jesh..

  • Defense needs to move up quickly but hold the line, don't give Cook or Reynolds room.NBrown to rush up on the last to spook Reynolds. We have gone off the boil a little with offloads but you could see last week that was the plan but handling and last pass let us down, this week will be the same offload offload offload, As the greatest Keyboard Coach of all says you pass, you score, you win, that should be our mantra going forward.

  • Repeat the formula that has won us 12 from 15 games.

play tough be patient winning by 1 point is the same as winning by 100, all history will remember is who won the game not the scoreboard.

  • Obviously "You pass, you score, you win".

But also maybe......strong first up contact, line speed especially in our middle third. Souths entire game plan is based on ruck momentum which allows Cook to run and Reynolds to kick in a dinner suit. You limit that and their spine becomes completely inneffective.

We definitely need to be better in attack. Our right hand side needs to be running direct (not sideways) and that begins with Moses digging into the line. Almost every try scored on our right has been via direct runners. If we do this more often, Fergo will undoutbedly score a few.

We've also shown nothing down a short side for a while. We used to be the masters of the short side raid. Defintely need to go there again.

    • Yeah, we seem short side wary.

The key to attack the short side is when the centre is at marker. Reed & Mitch need to be aware when Campbell Graham is at marker in particular, he is slow to recover and often splits to the open side.

    • You would drop a bloke who's scored 35 tries in 40 games and set up a few too so you could bring in Brad Takaraingi. Why? I'm just curious because there are actually a couple of others who agree with you.

        • Poppa I've noted your opinion on Sivo elsewhere and I've got to say for someone who I think does know his  footy you are way off the mark with Sivo and what he brings to the table. His pace over 20 metres is good. That's all you usually need to score a try mate.

You can never say a try is a gift. You've got to be good enough to know where the opportunity is and time your run. Some tries he has had to put the footy down in pretty spectacular style.

his defence is good actually Poppa, have another look. He defends to his coach's up and in tactic but is quick to adapt if that is beaten. His overall vision and read of the game is very good . Better than Semi's was actually.

And he's a beast - the best I've ever seen 10 metres out.

  • Souths score most of their tries on their flanks, Gutho needs to makes sure we're numbering up on both sides of the ruck. There are no other concerns, the Rabbits are a 40 minute football team. Completing our sets will take care of the rest.

  • spread it wide a few grubbers near the post
