I know hindsight is a wonderful thing. In last weeks game on the final play off a kick, Kenny Edwards leaps high and fisted the ball over the dead-ball line...AFL style.
When I saw the last kick go up today I was thinking "I hope Semi makes a play at the ball or fists (bats) it over the sideline" With zero seconds left on the clock, no time left for a scrum off a knock-on, I don't know why we didn't contest the kick.
Just say'n...

We were up 2, a penalty is a gift 2 pts and golden point
I think the kick got everyone because it was pretty flat in trajectory, if it doesn't land exactly where it did, we win. Good kick and a bit of luck to land it right between our players
It's exactly what I said at the time. And I've said it for a very long time. To me, whenever you're faced with a dicey air ball, just punch the thing out over the deadball line (or in this case the sideline). It's what soccer goalkeepers are taught to do, whenever they're in doubt and so many tries come from kicks, just play it safe.
Also when Guth knocked the ball forward & gave Penrith 6 again, he could have dived on the ball & forced a scrum with the clock running down - game over .
