The Parramatta Eels Club today issued a statement on behalf of Bernie Gurr:

" Today Kenny Edwards, through his management company, requested a release from his NRL Playing Contract with Parramatta National Rugby League Club Pty Limited. This release was granted by the Club effective immediately.

We thank Kenny for his on field contribution during his time with our Club and we wish Kenny and his family all the very best in the future."

  • Good on Kenny.
  • Maybe wants a winning feeling
  • That answers that question. Well now we have another spot available in our Top 30...
  • I'd say it's a case of jump or you'll be pushed. The NRL must now step up and banish Edwards from playing in Australia

  • The writing was on the wall. Jumped before he was pushed.

  • This season is gone. Time to clear the decks

    • Agree. Won’t be that favourable to Wenty but if we can offload a few prior to June 30 - we should take the opportunity.
  • It’s appears the Head Office are very quick in sharing news regarding the release of a player but nothing in regards to the current Eels on field disasters. Nevertheless, all the best to Kenny Edwards now Head Office how about some updates about what being done at ground level.

  • Sad :(
Doubt it'll take too long for a rival club to snap him up... that can keep a tight lid on things of course.
  • Good on you Kenny, thanks for the memories.

You'll carve it up at another club very soon no doubt.

    All the best.

"Something along the lines of this I think they are looking at in the front office. Need experience in the middle, a 1-2 year starting halves option. and en edge player, ideally experienced.
