Kenny Edwards

I spoke to Kenny today for quite a while as we were walking out of the fan day. He told me that he opted for a different kind of surgery. A 'Sonograph' I think he called it. He had muscle taken from his hammy to repair the knee. Anyway, he seems to think that the will be back by round 10! I commented that this seemed s little premature. He said that surgery went well, rehab going great and that was the plan! Great news if it eventuates!

  • Really unfortunate that this happened to Kenny. I hope everything comes good for him :)

  • Good luck to him, round 10 seems quick, but ya never know.

    • Peats took 9 months and Lachlan Coote took 12 months to recovery from their ACL operations.  For Edwards to return after 4 to 5 months seems ridiculous.  Although, I vaguely remember there is an option for using a synthetic ligament for this type of operation that can be used to halve the recovery time, but this method is only used for older players at the end of their career, because the life span of the synthetic ligament is somewhat short.  We won't need Kenny if Ma'u and Moeroa stay injury free but it would be great if he had a short recovery.

  • We've got someone saying Kenny said he'd be back Round 20. Someone else saying he said he'd be back Round 15. And now someone saying he said he'd be back Round 10.

Seems it gets lower each time he's asked.

Maybe he'll be starting Round 1 soon enough...

    • Haha... I reckon!! I saw one of those comments and linked back to this page...

Seems like he's telling people all different things

  • I hope he comes back fit and ready to go

  • ZERO chance of round 10, or 20.

90% of ACL recons use a Hamstring graph so his surgery was neither different nor special. It'll still be a minimum of 6 months before he can run and have lateral movement.

And a sonograph is basically an ultrasound - it's not a type of surgery
  • Nice back for round 10, pulls a hammy then back for round 20 right on time.

"I really like Samrani but if JR decides to give him up for MB I think that is a massive mistake.
IMO Samrani should be 1st drop for either centre/ wing if one of our starters is out. Brian Kelly is bog average and not going to get better.
