Kearney: It's about structures

Stephen Kearney today spoke to media on his first official day on the job at Parramatta, having now finished up his commitments with the successful New Zealand national side.

And he again made very clear that he would be focused on putting in place playing structures and striving for consistency.

"I think I'm very clear on what this football club needs. From the very first day I made the lads aware that it was going to be tough here," Kearney was quoted as saying.

"It's about putting structures in place and abiding by those structures we put in place and I think that's going to work for us."

  • I think it's wonderful to see that Kearney is entirely focused to the game-plan, or as he says structures that he's put in place in order to achieve the results necessary.
Really looking forward to seeing where he takes our team, as it seems that at least for the time being, they're headed in the right direction in many departments.
  • I believe that with Positive, strong direction and an attitude adjustment will be the breath of fresh air and exact Tonic we have needed for at least the past10 years !!.

Even in the dark 90's without the natural talented superstars we still had REAL PASSION and PRIDE in the jumper.
I.E Justin Morgan being absolutely smashed non stop, still got back up and kept going week in week out.

Some not all had the same Parramattitude shame the rest thought it was just a tricky Gimmick.

I wish all the Best for SK and the guys whom bleed and give their all for the Jumper.
  • Phil who is parra aiming to replace johns as halves coach ? I would ask sterlo / kenny to come in and get the ball rolling, have the 80's eels team members reunite and group talk to the current team .

Also hypnosis hahaha to make sure the game brain is functional when needed
  • That's what we want to hear.
  • Peter Sterling indeed took on an assistant role in 2010, I am unsure if he will continue that role in 2011.
  • Didn't Peter Sterling confirm that he'll be our halves coach this year?
    • That's what I thought?
      • Yeah, pretty sure he did.
Initially, he was reluctant to do so given that he travels down from the Central Coast, and his media commitments, but he did confirm that he'll be the Eels halves coach.
  • Exactly what we lacked under Anderson, even his most ardent supporters can't deny that.
  • Exactly what we need but Blind Freddy can see that. The players need to take responsibility for themselves and I hope Kearney can instill that in them and they can all get it done.

"Same. That being said you often see young front rowers sign long term then plateau for a bit as the rigorous of NRL kick in.
Hopefully he keeps tracking well and he gets not only Juniors position but a deal worth while "

"Happy with that. Mataele and Volkman need to keep developing so a short term deal is good to ensure they don't get complacent.
Tuivita probably wouldn't want more than 2 years because his value could really rise up. Place the club will have Paulos…"
