The new coach Stephen KEARNEY is cracking the whip harder than its been felt at Parramatta for a long long time. The training is very intense, physically demanding with plenty of players suffering from injuries since pre sason started on 1.11.2010. The noteable changes is the way the SK and his assistant Brad Arthurs is moulding the team with a sort of seige mentality. He has taken on TAHU, MOI MOI and a few others and wont cop any deviance from the enviroment that he is setting. What is impressive is that he has already :
- Increased training to incorporate wrestling and agility - defence is our rock.
- The TEAM approach is the no 1 focus
- He is drilling them on being faster to the contest and harder when they get there
- He is breaking down our soft underbelly by not allowing players to dictate to the coaches
Downside is that the massive change in attitude, training and increased physical attention has seen up to 16 players processing through rehab for injuries of various types most notably Mannah and Hindmarsh ( re injured sternum ) as well as some of the kids training with the NRL suffering injuries from the huge rise in class....The boys will be training right up to Christmas and will include commander type training.
Carl WEBB has been very impressive as has Chris WALKER. They are really putting in as is young MURRAY who is being looked at the no 7 starter. Brad ARTHURS is working with him and his kicking game is quite impressive.
Overall - MASSIVE ATTITUDE change - MASSIVE CULTURE change in process. We wont be a side like 2009 but a team that will work sides over and build pressure and take opportunities when they present. Fitness wont be an issue this year.....We wont rely on HAYNE as much and that will make him even more dangerous.......
SK - an impressive leader......people want to play for him.....
