Kane Evans gets away with it!

Do not get it... seems like the commentators have a lot of say over how charges are going to proceed... article below.

Sydney Roosters prop Kane Evans has escaped penalty for his shoulder charge while Greg Eastwood and Edrick Lee face one-game bans.

The NRL's match review committee decided it was penalty sufficient for Evans who was placed on report for his shoulder charge on Sam Kasiano on Friday night. He was cleared because he did not make contact with Kasiano's head.

Carry over points will see Eastwood banned for one game for his dangerous contract charge on Mitchell Pearce while Lee will spend a week sidelined for tripping.

Lee's teammate Blake Austin will escape a dangerous throw ban with an early guilty plea as will St George Illawarra's Leeson Ah Mau.

Wests Tigers prop Keith Galloway will not miss a game despite a grade one contrary conduct charge for making contact with referee Chris Sutton.

  • didnt sandow m iss 2 games?

    • Yep - and there is NO WAY Lil Chrissy could get anywhere near someone's head without a ladder.

  • Well fook me. They are just making it up as they go. Shoulder charges are now legal apparently. Charge on!!!!!

    • I think the NRL has amended the rule so now it says:

'Shoulder charges are illegal unless they look really, really cool and generate a lot of positive publicity for the game.'

  • The NRL judiciary is a joke. They penalise based on the results of things rather than the actual offence and based on public opinion of the incident.

    • It's who you play for. The commentators have a huge influence over the judiciary look at Paulis late tackle on coward John's and Fittler where screaming blue murder a roosters player shoulder charges it's OK but if it was one of our boys they would have been crying. I thought commentators have to be partial it doesn't seem that way.
  • well you see that's an easy one. Sandow was playing for parra and Evans is playing for the roosters.
we've copped some dodgy calls this year.
  • So Junior Paulo gets seven weeks for a poofy tackle and this wanker gets, what? NOTHING? We get busted for being over the cap and the Roosters get, what, a slap on the wrists and told don't do it again? NRL sucks!

  • I remember Tanginoa shoulder charging a player back in '13 and he received 2 weeks for it from memory. This is absolutely bullshit. I'm happy that there isn't a charge as the shoulder charge is a good defensive ploy when it works but seriously where is the consistency?

  • Why the hell is anyone surprised?

Come tonight if Mau delivers a nicely timed shoulder charge that misses the head he will be suspended by the NRL without a shadow. This is how they roll.
