Just stop

We all know this site is widely read within the Parramatta community, so I'm writing this as a blog to reach out to those responsible for  incessantly leaking information.

You need to stop. You have achieved your mission. You have successfully managed to get the NRL to launch an investigation into our club. You have made very public that the club has come from a pretty ordinary place in terms of levels of governance and business savvy.

Law of diminishing returns has well and truly kicked in. Nobody needs another front page story. Everyone gets it. In fact, with my media strategist hat on, I can pretty much guarantee you're now actively working against your own objectives. For every negative piece of press that appears from here-on in, you are now only hurting your chances of achieving an outcome. You'll galvanise the supporters into an us vs them mentality and nobody is going to listen to you, when you want to be heard.

The NRL have sent in the investigators. There will be phone records, emails, interviews with associated parties. If there is evidence, it will have been found. Can we please now leave it in the hands of the NRL to reveal the findings of their investigation.

At this point, the only thing you achieve is brand damage to our club. With every front page story, it makes it harder for the club to find sponsors. It makes it harder to get good people involved with the club. It puts more pressure on the playing group.

I'm guessing you don't care about whether we lose points or not, because that might be seen as a means to an ends. But I feel confident in speaking on behalf of every Eels supporter and member, in saying that we care very much. And those that are leaking will be every bit as responsible as anything any administrators or board members has done. And that won't be forgotten.

So this is an appeal to any shred of club loyalty you might still have. Stop. Let the NRL complete their investigation, and let the facts be revealed through official channels.

  • Well said.

    Couldn't agree more.

    About time.

    You know who you are...

I think you will find most couldn't care less what has transpired behind closed doors over the past few years and who is to blame. 'Most' I am predicting would like to see the current board and it's members remain to shove it right up the media, doomsayers, pricks who are bringing this great club to it's knees and the Tele in particular. If they have made big wrongs, they will be dealt with.

    Move along shall we?

    • Couldnt care less whats transpired ,well thats an intelligent statement !!
  • And again, please don't use this as a means to speculate or point fingers. That's not what I'm trying to achieve here.

  • Yep the more negative media coverage that comes out the more I'm getting behind the current administration and the more I'll resist anyone else taking over. I don't know if any other fan here in this site feels that way but I definitely do.
    • x2

      Read above FME!

    • See the problem with that FME is that if the current board stay its never going to stop, we will win a comp and the same detractors will destroy it for us and pay somebody to give up info to sink them, dont doubt for 1 second that wont happen.

You arnt shoving it up his detractors by keeping the same board in, you are shoving it up the whole club and setting up the future for complete disaster and unstability.

Its all well and good saying lets keep this board in but its a very very short sighted attitude that will 100% come back to bite us in the ass when it matters most, it would be completely insane to think that keeping the same board will keep everything sweet out parra way.

IMO we need a complete clean out if the board are proven to have rorted the rules, we also need to make it impossible for anybody that has previously been on the board to be on it again, this is the only way we will solve the problems we have.

If you want the current board stay in you are saying that you are happy for this to go on for years and years until the club is totally destroyed and put back a decade, that is what will happen 110%.

Yes Steves been hung out to dry along with his bumbling management of the club, but his job now is completely untenable, it was that months ago, is it all his fault? No, not by a long shot, but theres a hell of a lot that is Steves fault, of which he has never once taken ownership, ive never heard Steve take ownership of one thing.

Anyway, in a few weeks time after you find out the scope of this drama, you might change your mind anyway.

  • Which is kind of why I'm also appealing to their self-interest. They're not even doing their own objective any good.

  • If anything, they now seem to have reached critical mass and instead of fracturing our amazing supporter base they are driving us closer together, and uniting us ever more, with everything they write.

In many ways it's a beautiful thing to watch :)

  • Any time frames there phil ,2 days ,weeks ,months ,years ,even you must be getting impatient for an outcome!!!!!!!
    • Time frame is very important here phil ,i can only presume your aware that all this dragging on is affecting player retention and especially recruitment ,if your not aware of that your not talking to the right people because their frustrated beyond belief , go and ask the right people phil not those protecting their own jobs!
