  Only halves, fullbacks and some top hookers are worth the kind of money he is asking for. It's all about team balance because there is a thing called the salary cap.

    That has been the case, but premiership winning teams now have top line wingers and wingers in general are now demanding as much as play makers. We won’t get Oates unless we pay him around 600k plus a very juicy TPA.

    Do we even have TPA’s? If not, forget Oates and the like because 800k would be from the cap.

  He's a good finisher but couldn't punch a hole in a donut, Fergo is a much better winger.

  Ferguson mite be a good winger now but wait until next he only going good because he plays for a good side even I would look good playing for the Roosters

  He doesnt want to play on the wing. He wants to play 2nd row. Thats why hes asking for that kind of money. He s unproven and as a result we dont need him.

  Oates is good but not on the money he is asking to play in the second row.

  I think at the end of the day Oates will probably make a good backrower but he’s obviously doing it for a payrise and therefore you’d be looking at 600k or so I reckon to sign him. Big money for a bloke who’s never played in that position in first grade. Having said that, we need genuine attacking options on the edges and maybe Arthur should think outside the box rather than trying to buy sure things which end up bombing
