Hi all, this is pretty random post but I wanted to ask if we have any out standing juniors coming through with big wraps on them in 20s system or SG, herald Matthews. I'm watching the panthers game now and they seem to have them coming off a conveyer belt. I feel as we don't have as many coming through as early mid to early 2000s. I'm aware of the likes of penisi, dunster, athur, Dave Hollis in nsw cup

They are the names I'm aware of and all are a bit off being 1st grade ready. Panthers have a great catchment and have done well to keep it to themselves.
Parra on the other hand have Blacktown 15km to its west feeding into Manly 40km to its east. Parra should be throwing money at Blacktown and every other juniors to get them back in as feeder clubs. Were supposed to be a development club after all.
also cabramatta mate
The Eels have re-tooled their junior system. They did it about three years ago. They now take in two catchment areas, split into north and south. They host a number of off-season programs taking in hundreds of teenagers to get them into our system and begin putting together our junior sides.
In terms of up and comers, we have quite a few. Seven of our juniors were in the recent junior City vs Country matches. Blaize Talagi is probably our brightest prospect.
Does that mean we get more tools?
Thanks mate appreciate that, what position does he play. I just want to see the next Jarryd Hayne coming through for us
Jarryd coming through us?
What is up with you guys today??
Blaize is a 5/8.
His a gun played yr up in Harold Matt's will have a massive yr at Westfields playing a yr up .To think manly had Latu fainu playing up a yr and named player of the yr being a parramatta junior along with half of his manly teammates shows something isn't right with what we are doing at junior level .Yes I no some are going to say we can't keep them all but then again Penrith do ok keeping them .......
The problem with the junior players and to define them as being Parramatta jnrs in many ways is a misnomour, as the teams are now defined more as development teams and the players who are part of the various systems could come from anyway, and not just from the Sydney/Parramatta are, but many come from other teams/clubs in the area to try out for the season. There is also a fair number from the bush as well who try out also.
There are some comps though that only go for a few months at the begining of a season as well. Have a look at this link to the eels site and the lists of names of players, not the time of the changes as it leads into this/following year, some names are familiar as they have lifted into the higher grades.
