Tomorrow, marks the start of the Parra district junior footy competition. I thought it might be nice to have a blog for everyone who has kids or is involved in the competition (or indeed any junior footy, we won't discriminate) to chat, boast, whinge, etc.

Wondering what people think of the idea of having all teams from the same age group playing on the same day. All of the Under Six teams for example are playing at the same oval at the course of the day. It means our game kicks off at 2:50 in the avo, which is going to be a bit strange since our boys always play in the morning, but I guess it will be interesting to see what a bunch of other teams in your age group are doing on the same day.
We kick off our year against Cabra!
My two have moved from playing touch to reffing touch.
Every game needs a good ref and they are now earning money rather than me paying money :-)
My nine-year old who plays soccer, is dying to be old enough to referee. We'll have to check out which code pays the most :-)
It will depend on which soccer district he refs in. I know Parramatta Rugby League look after their refs quite well. But from experience refereeing soccer it will all depend on your local district. Mine was a pain in the ass, we paid over $100 for registration plus money for gear as well as 15% of our match fee. It would take me until nearly half way into the season to just make the rego money back.
Good joke Wiz. He'll be too busy writing music and embarking on his world tour.
