Judiciary

Now we all know how it goes, again and again it's one rule for us and another for the favoured clubs. I realise RCG had priors, but does him being suspended for four weeks and Tapau for 3 weeks for a deliberate act with clear intent, pass the pub test?

last night we saw Holmes binned for a hit on Moses with all the talk today and from the cows about Mitch "refereeing" and the contact being with his shoulder. Last year, Jnr copped a week for "great tackle" on A J Brimson. NRL will no doubt just fine Holmes or even let him off completely.12158492859?profile=RESIZE_710x

  • Reason why Holmes will get off is because NQ are on a roll and want to see them continue. I know it sounds petty but the media are even pushing it saying Holmes should get off.

Im concerned about Matterson with his record. Plus he will fight it to avoid the fine and get an extra week hahah.

    • Same as Sivo hit IMO. Let's see what the inconsistent judiciary says about this one! Anyone have any thoughts on the Harry Grant kneeing incident? Will he get time off? Fingers crossed he has at least a week off...

    • Well why was Fifita absolutley fine when Sivo a brute of a man had a swining arm directly to the head?

  • I was going to make the very same comment re Junior's tackle on AJ Brimson (that it was shoulder to shoulder contact and that Brimson's head making contact with Juniors shoulder was inertia or whiplash). I was told at the time without reservation that fighting it at the judiciary was a waste of time - any contact with the head results in a suspension. Be interesting to see if the cowboys fight it and what the come up with. Also interesting that as with Moses, Brimson was never sent for a head injury assessment.

  • Isn't it the exact same tackle that Sivo got 4 weeks for?

    • Yeah I found it weird the commentary team were like, if it was a head contact Moses would be on the ground and should have been sent for a HIA, yet Sivo's was arguably the same type of tackle and Jojo continued to play and were ok with the sin bin

      • Agenda is strong, it's obvious and over it. Even fans of game are the same.

Moses and Gutho being unlikeable attributes to that.

          • I dont know if there is an anti-parra agenda per se, but there does appear to be a pro-xxxx team bias, namely Broncos, Souths, Cowboys, Storm and Roosters (IMO), purely based on how these teams in particular are able to get away with certain things on and off the field. Whether it is leniency with the refs and judiciary, or transfers for unders, you cant honestly say that its the same rules for all teams across the league

          • Who is the NRL. The Eels certainly dont have any peronal connections or business connections to those that are in charge of the NRL. A lot of clubs have internal influences with those in the NRL heirachy either through media, personal friendships, Football standing, Business connections or star power, there is no doubt of that. The eels do not.

Is this an agenda or just a case of whom you know. It dosnt matter I guess either way, this year smells like we have been placed behind the 8 ball with no due consideration of the accumulative effect of each of the NRL's decisions. And if there has been consideration it must of been fleeting and disregarded.

            1. The teams we play twice is up there with the hardest draw

            2. The 3 teams we played straight after each had a bye were all top 8 or top 4 contenders at the time

            3. No Byes given to us during Origin period before an origin game

            4. We played Warriors another top 8 chance during Origin when they would be lucky to supply 1 player to it.

            5. Not allowing Matterson to change his penalty to a fine when circumstances re grandfinal/holidays whatever were a factor at the time.

            6. Standing down Dylan Brown immediatley when Burgess has been charged with the same offence and is still playing whilst waiting for court

            7. Not allowing Matterson to serve 2 games of his suspension in the pre challenge cup at the start of the year, "an offical game televised with prizemoney" but Walsh is allowed to serve one of his suspension games of 3 as an origin game.

            8. Sivo not being downgraded when first contact is shoulder and gets 4 weeks is not apt nor comapariable to other players from other teams.

            9. Not playing a top 6 /8 team during the origin period when they are lacking players.

            10. Our run home of Storm/Penrith/Rorters/Broncos/Cowboys is on of the hardest run homes possible.

An agenda maybe not, but no consideration has been given to our club of the accumilative effect of all their decisions this year, one is entitled to ask why.

            • Great summary there

We ain't in the script that's for sure
