Judge jury and executioner

Hi all , just wanted to put my thoughts out there with everyone . I dont have a problem with doing the time if we did the crime but what i have a problem with is our being able to defend ourselves as fans and a club . If all these allegations are true show us all . Put it in black and white for all to see exactly what occurrd . Bring out the dobbets ( witnesses ) what are they in protective custody or something. In a court of law we would have a chance to question the witness and have more than 10 days to state our case or be thrown in jail . It seems that the nrl make the rules and can interpret them however they want without consequence . Maybe they need a governing body to make sure they stick to rules. Cmon nrl show us the evdence and the people that told you because instead of black and white im seeing a lot of grey.

  • I agree. I Am not a fan of the current board but they have a right to defend themselves if they truly believe they are innocent. The nrl should not be able to say the club cannot play for pints as long as they defend themselves. This just leads more evidence that we are being poorly treated. It's an unfair decision and one that that would be overthrown in the courts.
  • I want to know how many TPA's over how many years have been loaded into this years cap to make us $570k over. Fans need some disclosure from the NRL.
  • The answer is none Chris

All the third party payments added to this years cap are current the NRL have a thing called a marquee player allowance which allows you to procure 600k worth of third party payments for your players the rest have to be at arms length meaning the club can have no hand in getting them or give those third parties outside it any benefits essentially we procured 1.17million for your players. We cheated the cap and got exposed by other club higher ups that had falling outs without that happening it's very hard to catch as realistically who can tell with how the NRL police it that's the long and short of it the dribble other members of this site are spouting is uneducated trash from people that fail to understand how the cap works
  • Other club higher ups at the eels I mean not other NRL teams
  • So Dave you're suggesting that the $570k relates specifically to 2016 TPA's which the NRL has said are illegal and therefore added to our expenditure?

My understanding was that the $570 was the amount of illegal TPA's and other payments discovered over previous years and added into this years expenditure.
  • No the total over the years is 3 million 570k is for this season as you will recall we were deemed cap compilent until the deals we had were discovered not to be st arms length if they were to just carry over dollars into our cap why would it not be 3 million
