JT and other late night musings.

Hello all. Long time Parra staunch.Keen to get your thoughts on wether or not you think that Jason Taylor was a wiser choice as head coach?I know the players respect BA, and I've spoken with him at length on 2 occasions now. I really like him. I just think that JT is fantastic for restructuring and making immediate impacts on whichever teams he's involved with. I know that JT was all ready to join, but at the 11th hour, Steve Sharp and the board decided against JT in favour of BA.Anyway, not trying to come across all negative, I just often wonder if the board are actually doing as good a job as they tell us they are in their emails, plus, I'm absolutely sick to death of our beloved club sitting on the bottom of the ladder. Despite being a win away from a much more attractive ladder spot, we are still 2nd last. 2ND LAST!!I've met Steve Sharp. He seemed extremely friendly, but that was on election day 2 years ago when he wanted my vote, so it probably explains his over the top behaviour. I've grown up around money my whole life, and I know way too much about running large commercial companies than I care to admit. Believe me, as great as that may sound, it's a bloody affliction 90% of the time. The reason I say this, is because looking from the outside in, this is anything but run like a successful business. Even down to how the board and club present themselves to the media. It looks like a circus, and it's something that can only be learned and rectified from years of business experience. I know Steve Sharp was a plumber for many years, which is fine of course, it's just that it really is easy to see this whenever Steve and even Scott is speaking publicly and representing the club. I know they might be decent blokes, but I'm just calling it how I see it. I guess I just want the Eels to dominate in a finals series again, just like in the 80's.Anyway, I'm sure many disagree, but that's fine. I'm just speaking from my experiences, and from that, this club looks like shambles to me, and is only heading for trouble. What do you people think? And, is there any chance we can beat Storm at home this week?

  • JT had a amazing footy brain even the Way he played footy . I rate him very high as a coach . I think we missed out on a great opportunity with him
    • I agree 100% mate. Very clever between the ears.
  • Has*
  • P!$$ off mate. Jarhish Mk 2
  • Howdy Frank. Is this a gee up? If this is actual fact, that is an extremely bad look.
How does stuff like this slip under the radar at what should be an enormously successful business, both on and off the field. I've seen this dodgy behaviour first hand. Give a man power and discover his true character.
Failed companies are littered with CEO's, Chairmen, and those with authority helping themselves or manipulating rules and constitutions to favour thyselves. I cannot stand this abuse of power. My father immediately fired many a dodgy employee whenever he took over an existing company.
Anyway, all this was a waste if you were only taking the mickey. If so, then well played, Sir Frank.
  • LOL Harrison mate your just another thats had zero to offer the site who just turns up at election and will disappear under your rock after it.

Its totally clear your here with an agenda, dont try and fluff it up mate, you wont fool anybody here.

Steves just delivered record profits, given us a training ground for the first time in history, we are attracting internationals to the club, you must be taking the piss mate.

Tell us who could do a better job?

  • Who are you supporting mate?

And what do you call a record profit?

Would you rather a mumbling dope like Roy Spagnolo talking to the media, or fitzy going to Hadley to get him to carry on like a fool.

Would you rather see Mark Riddell or Eric Growth jnr talk to the media, what a disgrace to the club.

    • Mark Riddell would be good I believe. Heart in the right place. Not as chairman, although he couldn't do any worse in my opinion. Grothe jr not for the board, although he is good with fans and members in regards to interaction, but he's not even running again, so forget him. Ben Smith actually stands out as a fantastic inclusion. Pity he can't run this weekend. Clearly they were worried he'd steal many a vote. Looks bad on the current boards behalf. Weak. I guess Spaginolo runs a very successful business outside of footy, which is important in my opinion when discussing roles like chairmen, CEO..etc. But I wouldn't vote for him even if he was running. Nor would I vote for Fitzgerald if he was running due to an unforgivable past. I must admit, both Roy and Denis have been extremely friendly and open for discussion on each occasion I've spoken to them about their views and plans for the clubs future. Both had impressive ideas about how to turn the club into the powerhouse it once was. But they've had their turn. Time for new blood. What are your thoughts on Glen Duncan? Time for results for crying out loud. These are just my opinions. No need to attack. Just give your opinion back without the hostility. At the end of the day, I'd love to be sipping from a beer with you all after a grand final win. Take me back to the 80's. Or at least to 1 week before the 2001 & 2009 grand finals. Peace to all.
  • Don't cry. You're clearly ok with 2ND LAST. I am not. Sitting in a hotel room in Darwin, using an old phone in which keys of the touch screen keyboard don't work. Apologies for poor grammar. You thinking that's more important than your beloved board/friends remaining in charge of a club coming 2nd last, means that you're not particularly switched on when it comes to business decisions. I'm sorry if I sound blunt, but you sound inexperienced in this field. Your mates being in charge aside, the Eels are coming 2nd last. Power moves must be made.
  • Large commercial companies are large commercial companies. Many differences compared to just large companies. If you do not already know this, I care not to explain it to you and suggest you head back to uni.

"Some players need to get sacked from a club and risk losing it all before they really knuckle down and put in the work.  Why did he get sacked, was it lack of discipline for footy and training or off field issues?"
