JH vs Hands

I picked this up in a facebook Parra fans page. Makes interesting reading...

"Apparently a stat has come out that the points differential between when Hodgson is on the field vs Hands and its very alarming!!!
Hodgson -27 points
Hands + 67."

I haven't cross- referenced but feels right.

    • Unfortunately we need to fast track it cause JH just hasn't worked out.

  • It truly baffles me why Brad Arthur consistently make selection errors. Hands is far better than Hodgson and Dunster should be dropped asap

  • I was actually going to ask this question post the match last night - whether anyone knew the stat on our for and against with Hands v Hodgson because on the pure visual test we seem a lot more in sync with Hands on the field on both sides of the ball. It's clear that our halves don't like the way Hodgson delivers from dummy half. It's time to put a bullet in the experiment. It was worth a crack but it's not working.

Damning stat if true  - if Arthur doesn't act on a stat like that something is very wrong

    • Fair enough he took a chance on JH and I actually supported the idea. But unless they want to admit the mistake, they are digging a deeper hole for themselves which has put this season on life support. If BA still believes JH can find form than he can find it in reserve grade cause we have a better option currently in Hands who can play the 80min.

      • He's just a better fit for our footy team clearly. It's going to be hard to admit the error because Hodgson was a huge part of our off season narrative. But admit it they must

        • Yep. BA has had no problem dropping Russel, Blake, Murchie, Doorey and Moimoisea out of the team but won't do the same to JH.

Our club is at its best if we have a dummy half with:

          • crisp services,
          • tackles eveyrthing and
          • runs on the odd ocassion.
          • If they can kick that's a bonus but that's not needed.

Trickery around the ruck isn't needed due to our halves loving early ball.

The one thing I liked from Mahoney is that he at least was there for cover sometimes whilst JH is never there.

So based on the criteria I listed above the players that fit the criteria are:

          • Brailey brothers
          • Reece Robson (back when he was at the outer from cowboys I was pushing so hard for him)
          • Cook
          • Crocker
          • Hands

We don't need a star hooker. Just someone who can do a solid job in the basic stuff

          • I don't think we could afford Cook, nor would we dare to try to sign an Origin player. I'd say Hands is our long term Hooker.

            • Sorry I was just trying to say the type of players that would suit our club. Not saying we could get them.

          • I think a big factor is BA doesn't think Hands is ready for 80 mins week in week out. He said that when we beat Canterbury that he got through but JH is back and he can keep developing.

    • yes
