Jesse Arthars

Looking through list of players coming off contract their are very few quality players available. Jesse Arthar seem to have potential. Needs to bulk up a bit but is tall and fast. Played well last game. Is there a better unsigned back?

I dont know a lot about him mate, i'd have to do some research

    • 189cm and 88kg is also 22. Gives some of young players in reserves a chance to develop and may add a bit a competition for a spot.

      • only 88kg at 22 is a bit of a worry bro, but i have a bias for big n powerful backs.

  • I can't say I've watched him closely but he always seems involved whenever he plays. I felt the same about Papali'i, he always seemed to be involved at ten Warriors.  I'd definitely welcome him.

    • Mutt. Looking at Broncos I would prefer to go for Tesi Nui (I think that's how to pronounce it)

  • No thanks.
Struggles to get a starting spot at the broncos .. that should say enough.

  • Mat Dufty in centres

    • You are kidding ?

  • We don't need to recruit centres. We have two established starters and a very promising youngster.

    • Have to disagree Brett, I have no problems with our promising youngster, I think Tom O will always be a shadow player for the side, but not the starting centre we need, Waqar Blake? I don't think he is a footballer....nothing personal with him, just doesn't perform, apart from his tap backs.....maybe a future in a Union Line Out.

WE badly need some pace on one of the wings, one of the reasons we have to work so hard is we don't have backs to blow sides of the park. Example

Last week's game Storm and Roosters, 6 nil Storm and Roosters challenging strongly.... couple of errors from Easts and the opportunity provided to the speed in the Storm backline finished them, the Roosters forwards could not claw back and Storm forwards rolled......end of story....the forwards momentum actually came from the Storm backs creating the break in the score.

Same game Parra would not have had the backs to take advantage of the Roosters mistakes, we would have had to grind all the way.......probably still win, but a different effort load......because we don't have that explosiveness in the backs.

I will shock you and say I would chase Brett Morris AC injury and retirement notwithstanding. His experience on the wing or centres would be the making of Penisi, whereas in the current format, Penisi will always be pushing shit up hill!!

AC injuries are not the obstacle they were and I understand Morris retiring, would he have without that AC? If he can't play, get him as an assistant coach for the backs. We badly need direction in this area and BM has a wonderful read on the modern game, probably more so than any existing backline coach.
