Jeff Robson at 7

I not 100% sure that Robson is the right option for halfback for the 2011 season Robson in his 2 years jumping in and out of our number 7 jersey he hasnt shown me as yet that he should be our halfback for 2011. I know what Steve Kearney said about Robson getting the first shot at our number 7 but i say leave it up to the trial matches give Tom Humble , Tk Amosa or even Brad Murray a shot if he is available at the time of our trials but i wouldnt give Robson the first shot straight away i would make him earn it during the trials. I am all for having Mortimer / Robson if kearney makes it work and they can gel i mean the cant gel half way through the season not in the last five rounds at the start of the season we need a good start to our year we cant leave it to late like we have done in previous seasons i would be happy with say 6th by round 10 and start really hitting our stride round about round 20 - 21 but we need the halves and we need to have a set pair at the start of the year no chopping and changing in my opinon we need a specialist general play kicker and whether its Mortimer or Robson both of them need to develop kicking games Robson can be a good running halfback but we cant just rely on that he needs the qualities that make a halfback.

  • we need a half back with some speed robson to slow

  • I need you to use some punctuation dude lol.

  • I don't want Robson at 7 but I don't think we have much choice. Haven't seen Murray play 7 but would be nice if he can develop.

I think Robson would make a decent lock in case of injuries but for now, can't see him playing anywhere but 7.

I see Humble as a running type player at 6 or 4. Centre is my preference for him as he is a very good defender too.

  • You should run the club with that type of wisdom

    • Thanks.

  • Humble shold be number 7 FULL STOP or (.)
  • Isnt he more of a five eighth.

  • Leave robson at seven!
He did well after a roll on in 2009!
And this is probably the very least of our problems right now!
We got to field a side to compete in 2011!
  • Yes he dose play 5/8 or fullback but would make a very good #7, IMO

    • Ok all so what exactly has Tomble Humble done in the lower grades to make him such a superstar promise at 7? I think he has some potential and speed to burn and try scoring ability but he is not a 7. If you can't kill it in the lower grades why would you go any better in first grade? Murray is a gun young 7 but maybe a bit too young to run the show yet, he is a natural 7 though but would best couple with Hayne at 6.

I don't care if Morts is 6 and Robbo is 7 if it works. Maybe with Kearney it will.................time will tell i guess.
