  • I'm gobsmacked.
Ok boys knees are allowed. Go and break some ribs.

  • That will do me how the fuck does he get off! Campbell is a protected species already I had to switch from nine yesterday couldn't stand Johns sucking him off every time he touched the ball. FFS! We lose a player for 3-6 weeks from an illegal tackle should be an eye for an eye approach. If you injure someone cause you were being a fuck wit then you should be punished he didn't even attempt a normal tackle. Actually come to think of it all of his tackles trying to stop us from scoring were dangerous. Especially the one where he tried to stop Lane from scoring and ended up whacking him in the chin.

  • Now this is where the board (not the coach) need to step up and make some public noise. You saw what happened last year when money bags Nick got on the phone to PVL after Brown broke some ribs. It whipped up a media storm. We need to start the same now.

  • We are too soft. Secondly the media doesn't support us. Arthur should have given it to the ref.

  • Complete BS as usual rules for some

  • I didn't think Campbell was going to get charged. From what I remember it's different to Dylan Brown's tackle because he was reckless, he was never going to stop the try from being scored and had time to pull out of it.

    • No both were reckless and both probably did not intend injury

Campbell knew exactly where Russel was and knows that is always how Russell scores - no surprises

Brown looked more like he rushed over and got caught out and tripped over Hutchison

      • That's right, from my recollection Brown was late was the main issue - Campbell is well within his rights to try and prevent a try being scored. For him to get enough leverage to try and stop the ball from being grounded or push Russell over the sideline his body has to be in the position it was. That's where his knees have to be in order for him to do that. He wasn't trying to injure Russell, either deliberately or recklessly.

It's a contact sport, injuries are going to happen and sometimes it's a very fine line between what's ok and what isn't. So we all have different interpretations of the same incident. That's just my take on it.

        • He's entitled to use his shoulders, upper body, hips to prevent a try. He can't use his knees. It's against the rules to use knees in a tackle. Always has been, until yesterday. Now it's no problem.
So next hit up from the kick off RCG and Jnr hit the player with their knees in the tackle and break his ribs. Play on.

          • He didn't use his knees to prevent a try, that's just the position in which his knees have to be in when he's using the rest of his body to prevent a try. I can't explain it any other way, we will have to agree to disagree and that's ok. If junior and rcg decide to intentionally do what you describe I can't see that match review committee being so lenient.

Cool story. Maybe for future outlandish statements you should post them before the event, not 48 hours after the result of 1 game and at half time of the second game!!!  On that note, please educate us all what the corrupt NRL have planned for…"
