Jarryd Hayne ponders new NRL deal

He's yet to sign his new multi-million dollar deal with Parramatta but Australian star Jarryd Hayne says the money won't go to his head.Hayne, the 2009 Dally M medallist and arguably the world's best player on form, is all set to put his name to a four-year $2 million deal with the Eels. But the 21-year-old was adamant his star status won't cause an ego explosion."When I signed last time it got to me a bit. I think I've learnt (from that) and now it seems normal," he said."Obviously I've had a good year and what not but I've got to keep backing it up."You're only as good as your last game and I should be worried about keeping that mentality, keeping that work ethic up."Hayne is in no rush to sign his new contract, despite leaving for the northern hemisphere with the Kangaroos team on Friday."Might not happen, might even do it over in England," he said."I'm still contracted next year, it's not like time's running out."The contract's still there, I think I've done everything but sign the major one so it's not going anywherewww.nrl.com/newsviews/latestnews/newsarticle/tabid/10874/newsid/57111/jarryd-hayne-ponders-new-nrl-deal/default.aspx

  • I dont expect anything signed until well after the Tour!!!!
    • That might not be a bad thing I guess. Especially if something awful was to happen, like say he he had a triple compound fracture of one of his legs on tour and was unlikely to ever be able to play again. We'd then see that offer removed from the tabel pretty quick...
  • no rush at all
  • lets hope he doesnt do a sonny bill lol , sonny bill was going on about how dedicated he was to the bulldogs and then signed a 4 year 2 million dollar deal then fucked off halfway through the year lol.
    • na jarryd wont do a sonny bill he actually has loyalty 2 us lol.
  • just sign the bloody thing already so all us eels fans can officially relax!
  • Can we see the game he's in on Channel 9 or Fox Sports and if so cou;d someone please tell me what time ?
  • Hayne, who inked a multimillion-dollar deal with Parramatta during the week, revealed his intention to become a one-club man.

''I can't see myself playing for any other club, I've been there since I was a baby,'' he said.

''It would be really tough for me to leave something like Parra.''
