JARRYD Hayne has assured his Gold Coast teammates he isn’t leaving the club.

While the Titans slogged it out on the training paddock in their first pre-season session for the year, Hayne has privately assured the players he won’t be walking out on the team.

While it’s been heavily reported that the superstar wants to return to Sydney for family reasons, Titans leader Ryan James said the 29-year-old has kept the group updated on his plans.

James said Hayne had been in touch to reaffirm his commitment to the Titans and expects him to return to the glitter strip at the completion of Fiji’s Rugby League World Cup campaign.

“We’re expecting him to come back,” James said after training on Thursday.

“He said on ‘WhatsApp’ (group chat) he hasn’t spoken to anyone.

“He’s kept in contact with all of us ... I’ve got no doubt (he’ll remain at the Titans) from what he’s said to us.

“Hopefully that’s what happens.”

While a shock return to Parramatta could still be on the cards, Hayne would have to take a significant pay cut to make that scenario a possibility.

It’s understood the Eels would only be willing to pay the No.1 around $500,000 for his services but Hayne has not requested a release from his $1.2 million contract with the Titans despite his partner and their child moving to the mid north coast to be with her family.

Currently playing in the halves with the Bati, Hayne heavily features in Garth Brennan’s plans for 2018.

The coach is toying with the idea of moving Hayne to five-eighth next year although he’s still a world class No.1.

James knows just how damaging an in-form Hayne can be and is excited to see a confident Hayne back in the Titans jersey.

“Jarryd is a big part of our team,” James said.

“When he is firing there are not many people that can stop him.

“He has been playing great for Fiji and looks like he’s having fun doing that as well.

“Hopefully he can bring that back into the squad early next year.”

The authors evidence is base d on Ryan James' opinion all the while still stating in the article that a return to Parra is still in the cards. How is this shite able to be put into print?
