"JARRYD Hayne is back in town for a short break from his NFL trials at the San Francisco 49ers.

And guess what loan car he is driving … a Toyota Kluger courtesy of Sydney Roosters supremo and car dealer king Nick Politis.

This is a huge pointer to where Hayne will finish up if he doesn’t make the NFL.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is off to the New Zealand Warriors, leaving the Roosters without a recognised No 1.

They are also releasing five-eighth James Maloney that would free up the funds for Hayne.

Politis is very close to Hayne’s veteran agent Wayne Beavis.

The Roosters crowds and membership have fallen since the departure of Sonny Bill Williams and the retirement of the great Anthony Minichiello.

Hayne would change all that in a flash. He is still NSW’s most marketable player.

He is an excitement machine who gets people out of their lounge rooms and off to the football.

Politis knows that. It’s why he hired Brad Fittler all those years ago. And Sonny Bill and so many other big-name turnstile clickers.

Hayne’s former club Parramatta are not in a position to make an offer because of their well-documented salary cap problems.

It leaves the Roosters in the box seat.

Don’t be surprised if we see the Kluger in the carpark at Allianz Stadium in 2016 if the NFL dream falls over."

  • Didn't Hayne have a life time deal with the club????   What happened there??  How did we just let the best player in the game walk out the door without a guarantee in place???  The rooster's have the most talented roster in the comp but they can afford him and we can't lol.

    • Hayne showed his loyalty to Parra for years, if, a big IF, he comes back, why do we doubt/question that he will go back on his word? He could have left us if he wanted to, and never did. We gave him everything and gave him the opportunity to what he is now doing. He will always be a Parra boy.
  • He has a 3 year NFL contract, which he will succeed in anyway, he won't be back. The Hayne era in the NRL is over, this speculation is rubbish.
    • He has 3 years to do so. It's pretty likely he will. The coach and other 49ers have been very positive about his prospects. They wouldn't invest in him if they didn't think he would make it. He will be there for 3 years, why would he give it up after one year? He's got plenty of $$ so can afford to keep trying. And the NRL wasn't challenging him enough, so one setback (if he doesnt make the 53 now) isnt going to be the end of it. Have a suspicion you will see his name there in the 53.
  • The truth is never a good thing i suppose.

  • You might be on to something... time will tell. Perhaps the reason Scott was moved was because he let Jarryd go with out a guarantee, and this something that's only recently come to light? Scott had certainly said earlier that Jarryd would only come back to the Eels. Who knows?

  • Did Fong leak this? Wont he be stoked
  • There isn't a club in the NRL that could afford Hayne in 2016 without the special Marquee allowance.
RTS leaving the Roosters means bugger all, he was on next to nothing. If the NRL give the Roosters the Marquee allowance to sign Hayne then that'll do me for good. The comp is clearly rigged in that case as the NRL could just as easily allow Hayne back at Parra under that arrangement too. Why one and not the other?
Anyway it's all a moot point. He won't be back in the NRL.
  • They reckon he'll make the 53 squad as the specialist returner as the current 49er's return specialist has been injured for the past 2 months

  • Some people live with their heads permanently up their arses.
Hayne was always looking to get out of Parra it was only a matter of time.
Hayne like most people like to win, make money and generally be happy.
He was only achieving one at Parra.

One game only, same old story. 40 years of this rubbish. Every pre-season, big talk, everyone says this is our year. Sometimes we start okay, sometimes we get smashed like last night, 52-4 by Storm. Then the losses start, we lose all momentum, and…
