Now that he is retiring, I remember at the start of his career he played for us in the 2007/2008 NSW Cup teams but never got a single call up to the Parramatta first grade squad. Is there a reason why?. I know that he probably wouldn't have stayed with us for his entire career, he has said in the past he never wanted to be a one club player but we could have used someone with the talents of Maloney.

It was simple really at the time he left end of 08 we had Finch as our starting Half (left mid season) Hayne was seen as a potential 6 obviously ended up back at 1.
We had Kris Keating Daniel Mortimor Albert Kelly in our under 20s system and Jeff Robson on our books.
Jimmy as a reserve grade player has alot of inconsistency in his game early especially in Defence.
Ivan Cleary gave him a genuine opportunity and he just went from strength to strength
Well actually debuted for Melbourne in 09 covering in origin time for Cronk, then headed to NZ. So Melbourne sort fixed up some deficiencies.
Some but the warriors is when he became a 1st grader
Wait we had Albert Kelly?
I reckon it was cos BA didnt identify his talent and develop it accordingly.....i'm sure thats it.
No I'm pretty sure it was the posters on 1EE that made the club punt him. Fuckers.
Apparently he left us over accommodation. I understand that we matched the $ offer he had to leave but the offer also included to pay for his accommodation and the Eels would not match the accommodation part of the offer.
