There has been a lot chin wag on this site about the selection of JA.
So what does he bring of the bench?you may be surprised. Like it or not he is our 3rd choice half.
He can cover both halves
Gutho goes down Brown to full back JA to 6
Reed goes down Brown or Gutho to 9 Ja to 6
Blake goes Down Penasini to wing Brown to Centre
and JA to 6
And there are a few more scenario's where he could be handy but you need a bit of intelligence to get this.
You can cover most positions on the footy field but when you lose a half it can have a mucher bigger impact on team performance so having cover in this area could be handy.
We have 3 forwards on the bench and our starting pack is punching out big minutes maybe no need for another forward maybe lol ?
Any way I've had a gut full of the keyboard heroes on this site that have no idea about footy and use this site to bag our club and players.
Go the Eels I hope JA gets picked and has a blinder.
Go son!!!
Happy team team list Tuesday Ba ha ba ha ha ..

Well I guess that's 5 minutes covered by Jake. Well done son
5 min explain ???
EP, they are not chess peices and a pawn cannot replace a Queen,Bishop, Rook or Knight, the main arguments against JA are his ability "full stop" its semantic to say he is the back up half if he is not up to the job.....now that is an opinion of course, I hold it and think a much better option is having Gutho the back up half and Simonsson on the bench. Then we have the whole backline covered and realistically hooker as well with Guth, who is an extremely dangerous dummy half runner. As Super points out Simonsson has finals experience.
Now in saying this is my opinion is as meaningless than any and every other point made on here. I admire the job BA has done and I don't think he is nepotistic because he would realise he is damaging the team.....no, he is just blind to the argument that JA is not FG quality.....I say the argument because it is ours and most others on here and from what I can gather other social media as well.......the words back up half are meaning less here and to quote the great JACK G, pick the best 13 (17) and worry about the position afterwards.....on that basis Gibbo would not be playing Jake!
Well said.
The 9 is the worry as none of the top 17 is good at 9 except maybe guth and Drown
But then we are weakening those to to cover 9
Ideally we would want a combo like Brandon Smith and Harry Grant. A dummy half who can play elsewhere in the pack.
Next year, I think hodgo won't play 80 mins and could get injured again. I have a feeing JA at 14 will stay. And if hodgo gets injured, JA will be our 9
Someone like mCcines would be good
That pretty much covers it Poppa. To be fair he did nothing wrong in his last game where he played for all of 5 minutes, but he hasn't proven himself as reliable utility so now is not the time to carry him.
Well summarised Poppa. This is all that needs to be said on the subject. No point banging on about it every day, it won't change a thing
In your examples JA doesn't cover anyone. He goes to 6 and every other team member has to move around to accommodate him. Which is accurate.
"I hope JA gets picked and has a blinder." Your hopes will be granted as he will be picked, but they will be dashed because he won't have a blinder. I don't believe he is capable of it in the NRL level.
You must have a personal affiliation with the Arthur family, whom have warped your thoughts on reality.
He shouldn't be there.
