Thank you for the opportunity to discuss Jackson Hastings. I felt like the issue hadn't been fully canvassed in the other 10 should we sign Jackson Hastings blogs
However I would say no thanks
Anyway I'm off to create a 'Hayne to 5/8' blog. Never been done before and I would
Like to know everyone's views about it.
With the Roosters signing Luke Keary for 2017 it meant that Hastings was on the outer. I suspect the roosters would prefer Matterson as their back up half for next year on modest top 25 money and move on Hastings.
Hastings has some talent but just needs to have a strong defender on either side of him. If we could pick him up for around the 250K or less he would be a good signing as he would be a better fit then Robson, Kelly or Cornish.
My thoughts exactly. I would risk him in front of Carney, or any of the other oldies & that includes Benji (from my blog) if he is on cheap money not a lot to lose really, especially for say 2 years as we can watch what alternatives there are out there.
He also has reasonable goal kicking skills & can play in the 9 shirt as well, could do worse.
If we were to sign him on a 1 year deal and have him have to earn his contract, i recon that would be the way to go, but even then id be very wary bringing a bloke like this to our club.
Carney??? haha that 'article' was a joke. He was never considered. Also, Hastings will be at the dragons as Connor Watson has overtaken Hastings as the Roosters back up half and Dragons are desperate for any half
Lets not forget about the little green man either who is currently with the storm his contract up at end of this year & is doing quite ok, another player who in his junior years here was overated now he is finally showing his abilities, & he is an eels junior which rules him out.
"The PNG national squad always does OK, plus the grassroots are already established. Plus, the entire country loves the game. I'd be more optimistic of PNG fielding a compettiive side over Perth. "
"Need way more than that, majority of the players signed would be their depth. Even that is rubbish. As Johnny mentioned too, juniors will be hard to come by.
Look at their last two signings. Sorensen and Talakai. Sorensen is a fine signing for…"

I'm not 100% sure Eelheart, but there may just be a blog or two already on Hastings?
For the record, I hope we don't sign him.

Kelly to dragons in a swap with Hastings.
