Jack de Belin has been cleared of all charges

The case against Jack de Belin has been dropped, making him free to play in the NRL, dependant of NRL approval. This is massive news for St. George Illawarra and de Belin himself, who was charged in late 2018.

For de Belin there will be always be a cloud of doubt over him, with him not actually being found innocent in court of law, it was the jury could not make a decision on the verdict. Although there was no actual verdict, it is 'Innocent until proven guilty' and as far as i see it he has not been proven guilty.

  • My apologies to duplicating this post, the other one must have been uploaded as i was writing this.

    • Nah it's all good, this blog is so mutch more easier to understand

  • And so he should've been the poor bastard .  The detectives should've been charged as soon as they admitted to withholding and dictoring evidence and lying to the courts under oath .

great to know the lengths our police will go to once they've made their minds up they're going to convict . The media of course won't report on how flawed the case was from the start or the " victim " changed her version a number of times and the detectives didn't see the red flags .

here's a perfect summary of the case

Criminal Lawyer Explains Why Jury Was Discharged in NRL Player Jack de Belin's Sexual Assault Trial…
NRL player Jack de Belin’s ordeal will continue as a jury has been unable to reach a unanimous verdict on the sexual assault charges.
  • Time to delete this blog, as factually wrong.

De Belin has not, was not CLEARED of all charges. There is an enormous difference in CLEARED and DROPPED. The charges were dropped after a hung jury on two seperate occassions. This actually means that two jurys could not find a unanimous finding of guilty or innocent. It could have been 11 to 1 with 11 finding him guilty and 1 person not guilty it could be the other way round as well, we will never know.

The fact is I dont know the truth i wasnt there. It could be he didnt do it, it could be he did it, it could be somewhere in the middle. But a certain fact is he was not CLEARED of all charges, as this blog states. The fact is the DPP " Director of public prosecutions" has elected not to take the charges to trial again, in response to the two hung jurys.

We are all footy heads on here, however we should still be mindful of all those involved in this, Accused, Victim/ complainant and their friends and families. As a responsible chat site open to the public we should at least respect and get it right.   Dropped is so much different to Cleared.

    Rant Over.

    • And this unfortunately will be the stigma he carries forever . And the girl just sails off into the sunset without her details revealed .

    • Umm where is it factually wrong? i did not say cleared i said dropped and that he was not found guilty, which is true he was never found guilty.

      • I'd say Blue Eels been telling everyone how JDB is 100% guilty . Now when his mates go " did you hear about JDB didn't do it ?"  He is the blokes going,

" oh wait on ... hold up here guys , it didn't say he didn't do it , it says there's not enough evidence to prove he did  . Big bloody difference there yaknow  He bloody did it alright , but cause his a big bloody footy player he was always gonna get off "

        • Hahahha , Nup nothing like that, same as Hayne, said i wasnt there so i don t know what happened. The bloke wasnt cleared though. Thats just a fact.
