If you believe the media from 3-4 years ago we were chasing him and BA wanted to play him at lock.
Personally with an offseason training injury free I think his best position would be five/eighth. I guess he could also put on 5 kgs and play lock. I just cant see him as a fullback or centre. He's the sort of player that needs the ball in his hands 2-3 times per set.
We are already covered at 6 and 13 so I don't think we should sign him. But maybe he could replace Taka? Not sure he'd come to play off the bench though. It'll probably mean Ray stone misses out on the 17 too.

Quality player when fit, definitely worth considering especially if the Broncs will chip in 400k for the first year, I heard he was really close to signing with us before he went to the Ponys
Him playing centre would depend on his pace, whether he's lost any. Bird is a competitor, he competes on every play, doesn't give an inch. Not only is he a BA type of player, the ones he likes to coach he's a pure footballer.
I love players like Bird they exude a winning mentality, if you sign him you'd have to change the way he prepares his body with an incentive based contract due to injuries but I'd take him in a heartbeat if the price is right.
Nooooo way, how many knee injuries for this fulla
He's broken don't want him, same goes for Moga
BA has assembled a team without individual million dollar contracts and has proven a'la'Bellemy he can get the best out of them.
Bradman B - yes but locked in at Knights
Manu - yes but he be expensive, worth a shot
Crichton Penrith - YES even Naden also
Would you take Tom Trbojevic?Hes had a lot of hamstring injuries .
Nup
Marty , Manly would be very happy if 15 other CEOs thought the same.
yea I kno Bup but I'd have Guth everyday.
BUP, your without doubt the smartest footy head on thsi site IMO. But Cant agree with you on this one. This would be a disaster. Can only end in tears. The injuries and lack of footy in past 3 years will make old BIRDY a light of former years He may come back but not the 2016 Sharkies version. Sad but reality.
Everyone forgets how injury prone Tedesco was. He got his body right used Wehbe to get his mind right and look at the result.
Im not suggesting paying big money for Bird , nothing like he's on now.
Every game he has played in the last few years has been quality and that's what you get from a competitor like him. A true footballer.
The Broncos we're going to play him at fullback this year that gives you an indication of his dedication to fitness and the effort the mans prepared to put in.
The club isn't paying big money for outside backs when our priority will be extending our spine so you either go for proven players who have had issues you beleive you can fix or opt for youth.
At the right price you can do both. Birds 25 yo , get his body right and he'll repay you.
Interestingly there is news out today that the Broncos are trying to offload him. I wonder how much they'd be willing to pay...
