JA

Thoughts ?

Thought he's improved marginally on last year and that's ok . That's what he should be doing at this stage of his career . He shouldn't be doing it in the NRL though , that 18 metre kick downfield to start the 2nd half was very costly. I'm kinda over being too critical of him , it's his 9 ball father who has no answers as to how playing guys like Jake , Dunster etc costs you at key moments in games. You can win in most areas but lose because reserve grade quality players are exposed at the top level, it's as simple as that .

  • Jake was fine today. Made his tackles and meh kicking game. He wasn't the reason we lost. However you question if what he did is any better than what Asi could do. Asi defends aggressively and is a much better attacking player. He should have played

  • Jake A wasn't the issue tonight.

  • Jake was better however he shouldn't have been selected by his dad period! Jake shouldn't be in that predicament where he's the only choice for a back up half! It's absolutely disgraceful and nepotistic in flavour and reeks of favouritism. The whole team, club, ceo, coach, board, etc. ..really need to take an honest hard look at themselves and everything they've been doing these past 10 years because the overall results equal failure in terms of premierships. Financially they maybe better off but where it really counts they've failed

  • Think his defence has improved.

I thought he looked good when he decided to take on the line but then over did that play and was caught out.

Definitely better than his previous years ...

    • He looks a bit quicker in his decision making too, and his hands have gotten faster.

    • Agree Frank esp in first half fhe was pretty good fell off a little but it was a real tough game ...mustve helped him playing reserves which is what he needed for a couple of years before he got his jump waaay too soon :(

  • He just did a job as a gap fill.  Would we have won with Asi ? No.  It's not as if we put Asi in and all of a sudden Gutherson doesn't fuck shit up , Brown plays out of his skin and Paulo turns into a NRL prop.

JA wasn't even remotely the issue. But he's also not the soulution.  Recruiting a decent utility is.  One that can put pressure on Brown when a Moses is fit and one that can fill in when someone is out.

  • Defence was better which was his main problem last year. Bit one dimensional in attack Attack island quite easy to read. Did well when you take it for what it is, a reserve grade half filling in in first grade
